I did this one last year, to hear about the interesting exotic hunts our members have solidly booked for this year. Though I've got nothing against shooting whitetails on the back 40 (do it myself) I'm more interested in out of province, out of country and off continent for the purpose of this thread. I'm always looking for ideas, and like to hear of other's plans. If you happen to be harpooning whales in your backyard that's close enough.
I'll start. This year I'm returning to Australia for 2 back to back hunts with different outfitters. The long plane rides are brutal, so the new strategy is to double down on a continent, then do the same somewhere else next year. The first hunt is a feral cull in the Northern Territory on a private ranch of 750,000 acres. The goal there is basically to kill anything that isn't a cow. I've done that one before, last year my son came along and got his first buffalo and pigs at the same time. If its anything like the previous times a couple hundred shots apiece per week is expected. This is what Aussies do instead of shooting gophers.
The second is a water-buffalo cull in Arnhemland, N.T. This particular hunt is attempting to substitute paying sport ground hunters for government helicopter gunning. It's all about volume and definitely isn't for everyone. I've done similar hunts, but not quite at these expected numbers.
So what do you have on the burner for this year? Africa, Asia, Europe, Alaska, or the other side of Canada? South America? Lets hear 'em.
