I did this one last year, to hear about the interesting exotic hunts our members have solidly booked for this year. Though I've got nothing against shooting whitetails on the back 40 (do it myself) I'm more interested in out of province, out of country and off continent for the purpose of this thread. I'm always looking for ideas, and like to hear of other's plans. If you happen to be harpooning whales in your backyard that's close enough.;)

I'll start. This year I'm returning to Australia for 2 back to back hunts with different outfitters. The long plane rides are brutal, so the new strategy is to double down on a continent, then do the same somewhere else next year. The first hunt is a feral cull in the Northern Territory on a private ranch of 750,000 acres. The goal there is basically to kill anything that isn't a cow. I've done that one before, last year my son came along and got his first buffalo and pigs at the same time. If its anything like the previous times a couple hundred shots apiece per week is expected. This is what Aussies do instead of shooting gophers.

The second is a water-buffalo cull in Arnhemland, N.T. This particular hunt is attempting to substitute paying sport ground hunters for government helicopter gunning. It's all about volume and definitely isn't for everyone. I've done similar hunts, but not quite at these expected numbers.

So what do you have on the burner for this year? Africa, Asia, Europe, Alaska, or the other side of Canada? South America? Lets hear 'em.

My usual swap hunts with buddies in West Texas and New Mexico. Also a wingshooting trip to Argentina...

I'm looking into a snow goose hunt somewhere on Hudsons bay in Manitoba in march or April. I'm also looking to do some snow goose/ waterfowl hunting with the wife in Quebec in the last half of September during our honeymoon...

Hog hunt in March in Fairview. In Nay/June 10 day Namibia for plains game, followed by a 7 day South African, for Sable, Roan, Tsessebbe and Nyala. 7 day Caribou hunt in August in Nunivit.

All I gotta say is...Lucky Bastar** !!!

I envy you all and wish you all Good Luck!

Will stick to our little hunting Camp fall routine in the Peace River area...lol

To be honest, its not 'booked' but pretty darn close- June should have me hunting roe deer in Denmark. I did it last year with a good buddy and it was tons of fun. A very different hunt on a deer that makes Texada Island blacktails look like Tanzanian buffalo! :)
Maybe I will dig around for pics of last year's hunt and post them. Different is always good.

Different is good. Seeing different places and different ways of life is good. Sometimes I'll find myself thinking about things like dugout canoes or electric catfish more than the game taken.

Well Dogleg, I have nothing to report.........2 new additions to the house and a new lathe kinda have me a little thin right now, and I'm looking at possibly buying another business, so..............Maybe I'll tag along with you to OZ !!!
Tanzania is definitely on my list and I talked with some guys at Birgit's show about it, but it won't be this year.

Not travelling for this one, but have a full blown 10-14 day moose hunt planned in an area of the Yukon where I have seen 80+" moose from my plane. It is an area which cannot be hunted any other way than by argo as there is too much muskeg even for the outfitters horses and it is so far from a road as to make access impossible any other way. I think I'll be putting in some time in the Cherokee 6 this summer spotting and marking trails on some maps, picking a good high ground campsite with water and hopefully a breeze to minimize the mosquitos and blackflies.
I want a true book monster moose before I give up my Yukon license and become a real B.C. resident. Gonna do the host guide thing for one of the guys who was part of my shooting team a couple years back, so we're looking to pull out a couple over 70" monsters.
Planning to do the full wall tented program so as to be comfortable regardless of what the weather may bring, complete with oil or kerosene heater as there are no trees in this area. Just a muskeg and willow river valley as far as the eye can see in all directions.

As far as I'm concerned, that qualifies. I like moose.

I've got a turkey tag here in AB this spring. Sheep hunt in the willmore again even tho I won't be carrying a tag this year :).. then end of October me and few guys will be headed to Azerbaijan to hunt eastern dagestan Tur. Most importantly lots of local hunts with my little lady and kids.

I did a tahr hunt in the southern alps of NZ shortly before 2014 started, does that count?

As a result, 2014 will be all local hunts.

Next year will likely see me south of the border for prairie goats.
