There are some great looking 870s on here!!
I've put a lot of time and thought into this build.
I figure I don't shoot shotgun often, and prefer an SBR over a tactical shotgun, so I've tried to mimic the ergonomics of an AR in this build.

I'm going to swap out some parts for different manufacturers (I.e Mesa high tube adapter for the S&J in place), and an going to add a few pieces like a 1-shot extension, enidine buffer tube, Vang porting and Armacoating.

Found a decommissioned OPP receiver and went from there!

S&J high tube adapter & 20" Rail
Troy rear BUIS and Front fixed.
Magpul CTR
Magpul MIAD
Magpul RSA
Vang Comp jumbo safety
Vang Comp SS Follower & spring
Ergo Tri-Rail slide w/
Magpul AFG2
Magpul XTMs
and a modified RVG.

The receiver's serial places it sometime in the late 80's so it was a solid piece to begin with. The bolt group was immaculate, which makes me thing it was a patrol gun that saw little to no use. I polished up the internals and it runs like a top.
What a fun and practical shotgun to shoot!

Yes.....
Unless it's 3.5" capable, then he can plug it at 5.5 rounds of 3.5" shells, which would let him insert maybe seven 2 3/4" shells, maybe one in the action and one in the chamber, for a total of 9

............anybody else see the problem here

I thought about that but most guys mention it.

This started out as just another Mossberg 500 JIC, complete with pistol grip. Now she's a tacticooled abomination, and heavier than any firearm has a right to be.

Starting from back to front I've got the ATI top folding stock, complete with five round shell saddle. On the receiver is another six shell saddle, that I had to dremel down to work with the stock. On the barrel is both a heat shield and a full length rail that makes take down without tools impossible. The pump is an aftermarket tri-railed contraption with a Tapco five position foregrip attached. I was sorely tempted to get another shell saddle to mount on the pump ( http://http://www.zahal.org/products/fab-defense-shotshell-holder-2?path_parent=218299 ) but thought it was too much. Anyway, that's my baby. I've been steadily adding to her for almost three years now. And fifty dollars twice a year is essentially what you get.

Man I love shotgunning in the winter

Had a good afternoon breaking clays with the new Maverick 88 Security 20". Its been too long since I've owned a Maverick, I forgot what I was missing with Remington's and Norinco's :puke:
$249 and change out the door with a box of shells and I didn't have to fix it before it worked properly! In other news, Mavericks no longer ship with a recycled hockey puck for a recoil pad. They now have a nice soft cell pad that works great... until it sits in the snow at -20° for a few minutes. At any rate the gun ran flawless all afternoon with trap and slug loads and I had an awesome day off.

Don't think this would be considered so "tacticool", but its the best I got.

Winchester Model 12, bought it with the stock cut down and just had the barrel cut to 20" and had the bead installed. Very old school to me and I love it.
