.50 Beowulf 3rd Party Magazines

That is the goal of the RCMP, to ruin our fun. This is why, if you're going to make a perfectly legal product you don't ask if it's ok... They have an agenda, don't forget that.

Oh, I agree that the "manufacturer that may not be named" went about it in an admirable way. I certainly appreciate it. But I caution any lay person about making simplistic legal analyses based on the simple wording of a statute or regulation. If everything were perfectly codified, then there would be no room for legal argument or interpretation.

Check out number 5. The RCMP have said its legal, in no uncertain words. They also state a five round magazine is unregulated.
They are really grasping at straws trying to keep these out of the publics hands.
Nobody likes to lose the upper hand, the RCMP are no different.

I've already read it. That's why I said, "prima facie, they are legal [...]" above.
Do you think that this position can't be changed? Or that the law, or at least the RCMP's stance on the issue, can't be reinterpreted/changed in the context of new facts?
Sometimes grasping at straws leads to something more substantial. Unfortunately...

But if you are convinced that you are right, full stop, then that's fine by me...I hope ur right.

I bought 10 of those polymer mags. Do they ever work great. Ending up selling 8 of them at triple the price I payed. That was a good week for me lol

I'll spread a bit of Sunday joy to my fellow gunnutz, Calibers in St Catherines Ont still has some in stock for less than $50. I will have mine early this week :)

Thats what I payed for mine. $45 tax in. sold them for 110 smackers.

Too bad the not to be named mags don't fit in T97; tempted to test faith and wraith of RCMP for some.
...
BTW, I also think it's great that these kinds of mags have been made available by vendors. I bought 3 of the unmentionable mags. I sold them only b/c they didn't fit in my T97...

If they ever get raided, for what? The RCMP wouldn't have a leg to stand on and they know it. Those guys claim they are making five round .50 cal magazines and it's none of the rcmp's business, much to their chagrin. Any judge would laugh about going though sales records for a non-controlled device.

All it takes is an RCMP gun lab technician to go on the stand in front of a judge and say; "That is a .223 magazine with a 50 stamped on it. It was designed and manufactured with the sole purpose of shooting .223 ammunition out of."

Now the defendant can try to convince the judge otherwise. Which will be difficult without ever having owned a .50 beowulf rifle.

Reasonable doubt.... Look it up.

I'm starting to think you're just here to troll and fear monger.

^^^^^^agreed^^^^^^^

No one likes a Debbie downer. Stay positive. You don't have any mags? Great! Others do and continue to legally enjoy them, leave them be.

Maybe its seasonal affective disorder, maybe holiday spending hangovers, maybe marital issues, but man, there have been some glum, doom and gloom threads lately.....

like Stewie Griffin said "don't bring me down man"

I made it easy and bought a .50 Beowulf upper and having .50 Beowulf ammo available all the times.
No worry about interpretations and being able to deal with facts is such a mind relieve.

...
The pre$$ €heck ventures magazine manufacturers didn't run to the RCMP to ask permission and yet nothing has happened. Why? Because they are making five round .50 cal magazines ...

Agreed.

This is a direct quote from P**:

"We have been told by the RCMP these mags are within the bounds of the law and do not require any approval by them. Having said that we have requested a letter to that effect...it is expected soon. We will post the letter once we get it."

That was May(?) 2013. So far the RCMP has not complied with this request (no surprise there) but they are, obviously, aware of their manufacture, and ... no raid.
