shipping concerns?

I got a note the other day from a gal on a dating site after I sent a note saying Hi. She said, "Sorry I can't tolerate guns." I wrote back and said, "Cool thanks for the heads up I can't accept intolerance." That is way better finding out immediately rather than finding out after you already bought dinner or worse yet married her.

When I used to date, on the first date I would ask political questions, gun questions, hunting questions, religious questions, and family questions does she beelive in the traditional family , oes she want kids how many ect ect . those few questions sorted out the wheat from the chaff so to speak ..I am happily married to a woman who owns her own 1911 .45acp , and .22 and.ar-15. nuff said she wants lots of kids , and will try hunting or at least prepping the meat. she is of course conservative and has a tight hard fit body and no she is not fat or ugly or anything of the sort I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I feel proud to have her on my arm when we go out. she works out and keeps very fit. go figure eh? As for shipping concerns...to me it's no bodies business what they are dropping of at your home. maybe discrestion is in order on the shippers part but . no one can randomly ask for more than a regular identity

The dealer should contact the carrier, as they have a contract with the carrier. The dealer can advise the carrier that customers are reporting unlawful actions by delivery people, and that it must stop, as it could affect business.

its not CanadaAmmo problems if Campar got cheap labor that dont care about the client.
FedEx and UPS got bad and ugly to. DEPENDS ON THE PERSON YOU GET

Low or high paid couriers have a job to do, deliver stuff, a lot of stuff! I am either the best courier driver in ontario or the worst based on all these forum comments regarding couriers, LOL.

If a "shipper" does not pay to have "signature required" on a package it is understood that a delivery person can leave it at your door if they deem it safe to do so. I am a gun nut, my wife knows this. However if my wife saw a brown box with a little white sticker saying "small arms cartridges" she would have no clue as to what that is? I happen to know what it is as i deliver alot of sfrc stuff(thanks for your business Ryan) Unless there is an easy to find description of the product on the box(text or picture) we don't know if you have a heavy box full of ### toys, widgets, ammo, text books etc. We also don't know if this is anitem that's worth $10 or $2000!
I deliver 100 stops a day, over 200 pieces. I can't please all the people all the time. My regulars and I have developed a rappor, I know what they expect and what to do with their packages, the rest of you.....I'm not a mind reader! If you do not want a package left leave a note, if you do want it left, leave a note, want in in your garage? Leave a note!!! If you have time to vent on the Internet you have time to write a note on your door saying "attention courier", followed by instructions. "Most" of us are gonna follow those instructions.
As the above poster mentioned it depends who you get! Service industries of all kinds are flawed with idiots who don't have a clue or don't care. Our customers share the same qualities. Some don't care how they get their stuff, just that it arrives in a timely fashion. Some you can't please at all.
A couple of tips for those lacking common sense.
1. If you are working from9am-6pm it's a great idea to have packages sent to your work address or to a friend or family member who is known to always be home during the day.
2. Leave a note on the door. Couriers possess many skills, mind reading is not one.( leave in garage, leave on back deck, do not leave etc.)
3. If you have a beef with the service provider, please get your point across without shouting and cursing. Despite what many on this forum have said whether tongue in cheek or not most couriers WILL NOT stand at your front door and take a tongue lashing. Express your preference for delivery the first time you have a problem and most of us are going to accommodate you. : )

Agree with TriggerTime & BuzzBomb with regards to photos.

FWIW, I once witnessed similar behaviour with a courier (not CANPAR) photographing a shipment that had been dropped off. Curious, I approached and asked why. The lady was very cordial and explained that after a series of recent complaints that boxes were never delivered, she's now attempting to cover her ass and have an additional layer of proof if challenged.

Although I don't agree with the logic, nor do I profess to have any insight into any legalities involved, there may be more to this than someone automatically being an anti. If possible, flash a smile and talk with people.

Wow. Got my package from CANPAR today and the guy had the nerve to pull out his camera and take pictures of the package at my door stop. Like do you really need pictures of my package and house? Next time the guy is going to find me at home and not my wife.

That's a good line - just might steal it one day.

Funny how sometimes people who preach tolerance seem to be the least tolerant themselves.

(Stole that one too from somewhere...)

They guy who who has done my Canpar Canada ammo deliveries is really nice... he always starts talking about his renovations or whatever, told me he was glad I was home, enjoy the package ect... He knows he's giving me guns, clearly he knows you cant order one without a PAL ect... its all about who you get delivering your package. Had a clerk once at the corner store mail depot who was VERY curious about my package lol. Its just depends.

Well UPS refuses to carry knives that I get from other countries. So a plain old brown box fixes that issue. Fedex refuses to transport any firearm accessories if they know what is in the box. It's kind of screwy.

Glad I read this. I just called to ask for my gun to be shipped by Canada post. The nearest Canpar depot is 1.5 hours away.
