Savage 10TR le/military

I wonder if the muzzle brake from the 10 FCP-K would fit on the 10 TR LE, and if it can be sourced from Savage?
Yes. They are both threaded 5/8-24. I remember seeing a post somewhere with a picture of a TR with an FCP-K brake installed.

Edit: I can't find the thread. I could be mistaking the exact model - FCP-K, BA, FLCP-K, whatever - but I do know they all share the same thread. These part numbers are hard to find. Savage's online parts finder requires a serial number to get part numbers.

Re-Edit: Found what I was referring to. It's not a TR, but they're all the same thread. http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...4-Just-Another-First-Rifle-Post-Savage-FCP-SR

hi

is what someone measure the room (I do not know the word in English) with a length space gauges for its 10TR
it is to have a measure to cut my bushings

hi,
where to buy a good Muzzle brake to fit on that 10TR ?
Wrote left and right and no ones can get me one and I dont really want to buy one from ebay.
Id like the M11 severe or the bennie signature from JP enterprise but it seem impossible to have them cross the borders..

Took my 'TR out for the first time today. I was exceedingy pleased with the accuracy of this rifle!!!! I was able to shoot a 3 round group that fit completely under a dime at 100 meters.
The load was a 150 gr. FMJBT over 43gr of Win 748 powder. With some tuning, this thing could likely shink those groups to half what it shot today...

Picked up a Vortex 4-16x44 HSLR with Vortex HS low rings today along with some 165gr and 180gr ammo to test out tomorrow.

From what I've seen on Google, the 10TR uses one of the mags seen on the rest of the 10 series (though not the others?). I've seen pictures with a 10 rounder, but heard they're expensive.

Edit: Well there ya go - thanks for the Northern Republic link - that's more expensive than I thought!

CRAFM at the top of the page is the JP Rifles distributor.
They can order one for you if it is not in stock.

I received mine today and went to work cleaning it.
I first removed the scope base to see what others were talking about and there was nothing to see.
No whale snot or other fluids. No stripping of screws or any other drama.
I used my Wheeler Engineering torque limiting screwdriver set to less than 20in./lbs and all screws were torqued to less than that.
I then cleaned the bore and chamber using my regular method which includes a bore guide and the Sinclair chamber cleaning tool.
I then cleaned and lubricated the bolt as usual.
Using the Hornady OAL gauge and bullet comparator I took the following measurements and compared them to my Savage 10BA.

10TR using 180gr SMK OAL to lands 2.763", Base to Ogive to lands 2.181"
10BA using 180gr SMK OAL to lands 2.814", Base to Ogive to lands 2.290"

10TR using 175gr SMK OAL to lands 2.805", Base to Ogive to lands 2.214"
10BA using 175gr SMK OAL to lands 2.845", Base to Ogive to lands 2.243"

I will be measuring the 168gr SMK's later and posting the results

My conclusion is that even though the 10TR has a 1-10" twist rate it was specifically designed to shoot 175gr and less projectiles.
Bullet profile will be very important in determining if a particular style of bullet will fit at a standard length of 2.800".

I will be loading up some 175gr SMK's to FGMM MK316 Mod 0 specs and shooting them out of both rifles to determine how accurate these rifles are with that load and I will be working from there to increase the accuracy of the load in both rifles.
