SR22 Rifle Questions

Looking Great TEG! Which one do you like better so far?

I prefer the looks of #1 with the stock Ruger hand guard. The rails on the #2 4" hand guard look out of proportion to me somehow, however I do like the folding vertical grip and shorter 0/A length (26.25"). I have not shot the #2 configuration yet, but i did shoot it with just the bare 8" barrel and no HG, I think I will prefer config #2 for shooting.

Configuration #3 will be similar to yours, only shorter, will be the kinetic-tech shroud and a 4" smooth round HG. I like the MP5ish look of that set-up.

They both look ace TEG. I like the innovative approach too...never would have guessed Nordic would sell those front assy's separately. Now, if only we had a quick change barrel feature like some machine guns! Curious to see Ver 3.

You're gonna laugh, but I'm the process of acquiring yet another SR (Chassis only). Might be time to look up a local chapter of SR-22's Anonymous. I want to acquire one of Brownells 10/22 M4 profile barrels. Also got some farkles inbound for a Remington 597 HB, that should be a fun one.

I contacted Larry at Iron Eagle, he contacted Nordic and got them to supply the adapters, it ended up costing $55 for both, which is less than the $35 each he originally quoted me. He is a very helpful guy. We do have a potential quick change barrel option if Dlask or someone will build different take-down barrels.

Laugh....no I am beginning to expect you to buy one a week :)

I like the looks of #1. I never liked shooting with vertical foregrips, it just feels wrong to me. Hopefully I'll get to try them both out soon:)

It also locks at 45 degrees and folds flat. I like it at 90 degrees myself, I had a grip pod on my S&W M&P 15-22 and have a short Magpul VFG on my AR. But I will let you take it off when you shoot it :)

I'd like to get the DOUBLE STAR - AR-15 ARFX SKELETON STOCK Entry length, however it seems Brownell's only carries the regular length one. Can the longer stock be cut down to make it the entry stock length?

Actually wouldn't be that difficult... remove the pin, small 1 inch pipe cutter on the bottom rail... exacto blade to the foam... done. Of course you need to get the smaller and appropriate length buffer tube for the entry model.

Is there any legality issues... who knows... this is Canukistan ya know... and if not now, just wait till pretty boy Justin gets done with your newly modded baby killer rifle

Why not check with fabsports to see if they will bring one in for you? I would call them.... normally they carry this item but none in stock presently...

I know if you go with the shorty ARFX and a 10" bbl, you will be just under 26". I ordered the 1" shoulder butt pad for mine to make it 26.5" (and to deal with the massive .22LR recoil of course)

Really? Was that with a 10 inch or 10.5 inch barrel? What is the measurement of the entry length stock without the 1 inch pad?

My build lengths are as follows:

(OAL) SR-22 - 29 inches / w shroud = 29.25 (uses the ARFX standard length stock and 10.5 inch Dlask Barrel)

(OAL) NEA AR22 - 27.75 inches / w Break = 30 inches

Thanks for all the information guys. What I really want is the (AR-UL-E) ACE AR Ultra Lite Stock Entry Length, however Brownell's can't get them and ACE ltd. doesn't ship to Canada. Which I find weird because their sister company Double Star does.

Going from memory, it was 25.5" without, and with the 1" pad, shock and awe, it came to 26.5"

Now you are making me wonder if I 10 or a 10.5 bbl though. I assume its measured from the muzzle threads and not the brake etc?

Over All Length (OAL) can not include the detachable break or shroud. It does include the barrel threading however.

The stock isn't permanently fixed, but it still counts toward o/l length :)

Don't try to make sense of it... you'll hurt yourself. All this using your brain to question the sensibility of our tried, tested, proven, and thus trusted gun laws... no good can come of it dear friend cou:

Seriously, where does it say a mussel break counts towards anything? (and don't say 'show me where it says it does not'... this is Canukistan, it ALWAYS does not... everything, unless otherwise expressly dictated) f:P:
