Berger Southwest Nationals 2014

Gord, are you planning the US National this fall ? I think we should begin shortly to plan a Team Canada in there....new post will be required..

I can also confirm that for the second year running the weather was perfect for road cycling. No sense having to get dusty on the range when you can ride for hours instead.

Les, the Cdn FOpen team was is the lead in the Master class team event the first day. You should have come the second day instead of riding your bike and scored the other team on the line and this would have allowed the Cdn Open team a very good chance at medalling in the FOpen team event. I could have stayed in the chair wind coaching and had Cal with a higher score (only needed 4 more points and for my score to count, but since you were not present in some form, my scores were omitted from the team, even as an alt shooter) instead of Eric wind calling for Cal and I on Steve and Eric's rifles. Since you were not present, we lost our chances at a medal. Yes we would have had to beat some HM teams as well for a medal, but still pissed at not even having a chance at one Les. You let our team down big time.

WG,
The US Nats in the Fall are INKED into my calendar.....Would imagine this will be another
great match in addition to our (CDN) Provincial,Regional and National Matches (America's Match included)
Starting to feel BUSY even before the season starts. Also remember there are Mid Range Championships (Great Lakes)
at Camp Perry end of July............
How many cases to prep......MORE just MORE!!!

There have been many posts discussing the accuracy of PGW products. As Manitobans proud of the firearms made here we would like to point out that Gerry Wiens contributed to winning team silver medal at the Worlds in Raton and placed well at the Berger Southwest Nationals with a PGW action and Krieger barrel. We are looking forward to the new actions that Steve is working on for us for the upcoming season.

wheelgun, thanks for all those pics and updates of the Berger SW. It was appreciated to take the time out of a busy match cycle.

So glad you all did well. WOW, some awesome shooting in team and individual.

If the moons align, I might just make it to the US Nationals this fall.... fingers and toes crossed.

Have a safe trip home and welcome back to WINTER....

Jerry

Yes it was a great match with a top notch prize table! Over $60000 in door prizes!

Congrats to Steve B. who came in 1st in the FOpen Master's and 12th over all the FOpen shooters regardless of class, with a 1223-50x out of a possible 1250! Bet you made NRA HM now Steve! 1223+640/1250+650=98.05% I checked and team scores count too in NRA, great shooting Steve!

Also congrats to my travelling partner Cal W. shooting his little lady cartridge so well and to Mitch Y. who made out like a bandit at the prize table, winning the Hawkeye borescope and a certificate for any March scope, plus a bunch of Berger bullets. I had a ball with you two the entire time we were down in the 60-70F weather, both off and on the range.

You and Marc have to come down in the fall to shoot the US Nationals and teach the rest of the guys how to do it. I was just lucky you guys weren't there!! Only 3 days drive down and 3 days back!! Of course stops in Vegas!!
