27-28 Sep 2014 Precision Rifle Clinic CFB Petawawa Debrief Here!

Grab anything. Some dude was there last year with I think it was an enfield with a wire stock. He seemed to have a great time. I think caulk river was using a stock rem 700 acc and shooting good groups with norinco ammo. You do not need a crazy expensive rig to enjoy this clinic.

Yup, and one of my buddies used a really old 6.5 swedish mauser, over 100 years old, and still did quite well.

That was Viking wasn't it. He was talking about it when we were eating dinner at that steak house

3) What level of experience is appropriate? I wouldn't say I'm a complete noob, but I've only been shooting (pretty much exclusively for precision with bolt action rifles) for about 5 months now.[/QUOTE]
Your good to go, that about what I had last year before the clinic.

I'm surprised as heck how fast this baby is filling up with the incoming EMT payments.

Sorry dudes, I got the same jokes from last fall of 2013 Petawawa PR clinic! :D

Are you kidding me, this was a lot of fun last year and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised that 75% of the guys from last year return. You've got 7 months to come up with some new material to keep us laughing.

I am definitely coming back again!! What a fun way to learn.
I installed an Atlas bottom metal and AI 10rd mag, so that should help letting me concentrate on my shot rather than my reload this time.

Maybe I'll stay the night in a hotel, it will be cheaper than the gas I spent last time driving back and forth from south of Ottawa.

I'm in the process of installing a better muzzle brake, so that I can better throw dust and rocks in my competitors eyes. ;)

Got a spare 5 round mag so reloads will be much less frantic now lol. They don't make 10 rounders in .338lm.

I also built in an adjustable cheekpiece, so my cheek weld is now perfect.

Learned loads of info.

Just watch your own eyes. One of our guys was digging gopher holes last summer.

Oh I'll be shooting quite aways from you and that fat bastard

All jokes aside, shooters beside it may feel more blast, but it will throw way less debris than the 360 degree ported brake that came with the rifle.

Not to worry, just bustin balls. I remember last year you were talking about the dirt flyin around, and mentioned a brake from APA ( fat bastard) didn't know if you picked it up. I have the little bastard brake and had blown dudes hats off ( literally ) when I pull that trigger.

Haha!

Can't wait to see how it works with 90 grains of powder, pushing a 300 grain pill.

I'm getting giddy just thinking about it... :D

My best guess would be like a half second hurricane, minus the water part and crack of thunder from the fist of god. You thought your 338 was loud before. Your shoulder will thank you.

So here we are still 7 months away and on 24 Feb 2014, we have 16 people registered, with another 13 spots left over!

Most of you may recall last fall's clinic in 07-08 Sep 2013, we had a whale of a lot of laughs! All great fun!

Cheers and keep helping the noobs out there.

Barney

We'll Barney with the clinic being on the 27 and 28 of sept. You might get what you wished for and didn't get last year, lousy weather. lol.
