Hello all, new here, I just initiated the transfer of registration of a restricted handgun here in Ontario. I had called the CFC last week and confirmed that in order to buy this weapon do I need to be a member of a club and was told, NO, that I do not need to be a member. Upon hearing that, I made the purchase yesterday and the transfer process has started, I called the CFC and gave them my reference number and answered questions to confirm my identity and one of the questions was what club am I a member of, my answer was none, and she followed up with "not yet then" and i said yes. so after all of that, she said that it is now being given to the CFO in Ontario for approval. The fact that I have a restricted and non restricted license, in fact, just renewed back in December, isn't that the approval already? Is this normal procedure or should I expect some trouble because I am not a member of a club? Just to confirm, I do plan on joining a club as I do want to shoot it, just time was a factor in purchasing this weapon.
Thanks for any input,
Eric
