Boyds tacticool stocks in Canada?

This question comes up every month or so. You're correct, Boyd's cannot ship the tacticool stock to Canada (US export laws). However, you can get them through Savage. Call and ask for the MkII TR replacement stock. It'll cost you though. Rather than the $100 you'd pay from Boyd's, when it's all said and done, you're looking, if I recall correctly, around roughly $260 (trigger guard, screws, shipping, taxes, duty). Check out Rimfire Central's Savage forum sticky's to make sure you order the correct trigger guard and screws.

If you want to be fair, the Boyds stock will be close to $200 by the time it has landed at your door (assuming they were legal to ship again) when you add in $40 shipping and the $40+ for the bottom metal. The Savage is more expensive, but not 2.6x as you state.

Savage cannot sell parts to us as of right now. They are waiting on export paperwork, just got off the phone with them yesterday. I thought though Boyd's sold to Canadian's. I was looking for a stock there and they offered shipping to Canada. Give them a call, if they still have their export paperwork they can export up to $500 worth just like Brownell's.

Salvage is still waiting? Holy crap.
Boyds can not export the tacticool. It is military technology according to the us state department. Any other stock is fine though.

Fair point on the price. I hadn't considered that.

Being a lefty, I didn't want a right handed rifle, so purchasing the stock, then modifying it with a dremel was the best option for my situation.

Separate thought, would one be able to order the tacticool stock through a CZ dealer if they wanted one for the 452?

Might be able to get a "replacement" for the 455 tacticool sr. That is if you can convince cz usa to ship anything outside the usa. They won't even ship a sticker up here last I tried.

I tried to get a Tacticool Stock from Boyds and Savage. Boyds will not export the stock as it is covered by ITAR and is considered military technology. Savage would not provide me a Tacticool stock because you can only get them as a replacement and must provide your firearm serial number. Replacement stock is only available for TR and TRR models, so if your serial number does match one of these rifles you can't get the stock. Of course I found this out after the fact.
