Please keep your comments coming.

You may remember , hmmm ... was it 3 years ago , a CGN member took an 858 and built it into the spittin' image of an SVD Dragonov . Several threads with hundred of comments and likely 50 guys asked the member to make them one . I was one of those guys . I'd give both nuts for a real SVD and my left nut for a very close copy . If Bruno can do that , myself and a lot of others guys would fight to be first in line . We all know it isn't 7.62x54 and it isn't a real Dragonov but since we can't get an original , bring on the 958 SVD . I'm ringing a 12 inch plate at 300 yards with my 858 and that's fine but I want a dead ringer of an SVD .

Yeah I'd say flatten out the stock angle, but it's not a deal breaker. Are you saying that only shorter restricted versions will have chrome bores? I don't really understand why it's exclusive to short barrels... What's the reason?

DO we have any technical info on this?

Would be nice if it would accept lots of AR type furniture (pistol grips, stocks) and be available in calibres other than 7.62x39 (223 using AR mags would be awesome).

We have access to over 30,000 new unused chrome lined barrels, these are all short. We could retail them for approx. $100 each if demand is there. These cost a lot more to make but are available as surplus, un used as do not even have gas port drilled. Now new 18.6 inch barrels have to be newly manufactured at today's cost, we can not retail new chrome lined barrels for $100 !! We may in the future be able to provide new 18.6 inch chrome linned barrels but it wil drive up the price. Right now I want to bring the CZ 958 to market as quickly as possible and as cheap as possible, we now have 14 months lost sales to make up.

Ohhhh alright. Thanks!

Will not be using AR grips as would increase the base price. Only 7.62x39 at present. We are working on having her accept AR type mags using the B&T mag well adapter, time will tell how successful this will prove to be.

Remember anything is possible if you are prepared to wait and to pay for it!

Just give me time, there are only 24 hours in day, maybe next year we could look into that.

So, two questions....

1) Will "standard" CZ bolts still work, w/ or w/o the tabbed mod? Have LOTS of parts, now that I have disposed of the serialed part of the gun.

2) When others have to turn in the cut out section of 858 receiver with the serial #, to the jackboot authority, will we be able to get a deal on the "press out/ press on" refit of exisiting barrels, to non prohib recievers? All 'other' parts installed 'by owner', of course, after the 'cut apart' job required to get you the 'receiver fragment w/ barrel', for the refit....??

Good luck, on sourcing a 'cheaper' semi only receiver...I'll settle for CZ quality, though. Top notch quality.

As a side note, this REALLY blows dead goats, and to those reading, if you haven't written your letters, please do so now.

Standard bolt carriers will work if the stripper clip guides are removed.

If you own a non restricted firearm that is made prohibited there is no legal requirement to turn in anything. Simply destroy the receiver then you are not in poccessions of a prohibited firearm. Then you do not even give the government the statsifaction of knowing if anyone, non of us or all of us complied.

good work on "hunter" in the name

sounds so much better than "Assault weapon" or "child murderer" that the anti's like to infer

mp in parliament awhile back was going on about the "domionarms outlaw"..... and kept asking questions about "outlaw" as if it was for them only

The new 958 sounds like a winner! I'm 100% in.
I agree, basic low cost and get it to market ASAP and people can modify them on their own. Beaver barf wood is ok.
I myself would go for the Tactical model.
I like that it has iron sights.
Chrome barrels would be good, but I can live with non-chrome too. Either way I'm happy.
Short barrel chrome Restricted I may consider as well, but NR is first on my list.

Maybe Wolverine could be the expert depot for receiver retrofitting for the older models caught in all the recent kafuffle?:)
