Really? You are concerned about your posts being removed? Like having a post removed is so awful unless there is a magic number you are trying to achieve? You need another hobby besides posting obviously.....
Hey Doc, maybe you better put your question back up so this site doesn't become so repetitive with the same question.......
Yeah, really. Here's why. A guy asks a question, I give it due consideration, and take the time to type an answer. Then the guy erases the question, leaving the following answers, comments and suggestions hanging with no context whatsoever. Next guy comes along, reads the post, it's a soup sandwich of seemingly random gibberish with no connections. It devalues the usefulness of the Forum as a information source, overall.
If it was about post counts, I would have never signed up for access to the OT section. And honestly, for better or worse, yeah, I would rather see the question put back up. It might be useful to the next guy down the line that is looking (and for whom the search engine actually works).
So, this one turned in to a bit of a train wreck. Whatever. Never happened before on a Forum, you figure? It still used to provide both context and some information worth considering. Heck, even sunray, he of the rarely useful sound-bite posts, at least managed to provide the name and address of where the company wants the gun to go for such ministrations. Y'all didn't think that Gravel was staffed by Doctorate level Engineers did ya?
I've been on a couple Forums where it soon became obvious that there were a few guys that were habitually going around and removing their own posts because the Forum software allowed it. It made a hash out of any old threads, because the information was only half there. It was really difficult to piece together the data I was looking for, and at least one of the guys was doing so, to keep his post count down in the single digits, so that he could pull the "I'm new to this, would you give me a deal" line, whenever someone started discussing something he was interested in buying. He, was downright dishonest in the way he presented himself, and if you were not following that Forum for long enough to know that he had posted nearly daily, you would maybe buy his BS line.
I am on another site where the software is set so that after a time period, you cannot edit your own posts, let alone remove them. 24 hours, iirc, is the time line. Fair enough, I figure.
So.... your mileage may vary, but that's my opinion on the matter.
The great thing about modern manufacturing is that the capabilities of the machine tools used have reduced to a great extent, the need to hand fit each part so that they will work. Why would these simple firearms be any different. The lawyerese gibberish is all about reducing the risk to the Company, as far as both liability and their image is concerned. If you modify anything, against the express instructions of the Company, you are essentially being told you are on your own, no? Ford wants you to only deal with a Ford dealer, H&R does too.
Cheers
