Set a price and go find one on EE that has all the features you like for that price, with the money you save give a serious thought on tossing a few dollars towards the NFA, so you get to keep that rifle in the future
So far, they have too much crap on them, and people are asking stupid prices. The few bare bones norks I see in the $500 range disappear before I can blink.
Why not get a FAMAE SG542? Sure it's more expensive than the others, but you'd have some NR .308 battle rifle goodness and still be able to get a Norc AR and come in under $4k for both.
Never thought of those. It would look good next to my M305, yes?
I'll just leave these
HERE, and
HERE!
Now those are nice

This is what I don't mind seeing... a dealer willing to say "I just might have what you're interested in!" and making it harder for me to figure out how stupid i should get with the money before I get the money
Handled the SG-542 & 540 - not worth the going rate based on what I've seen.
You're ahead of the curve compared to me.
For sure...
Or how much money one wants to spend. I'd get on board with the new DPMS .308 offerings like others here, but I don't think there is enough practical experience with them out there...yet.
That's the thing, I'm trying to keep costs on the guns low. Never owned an AR before, and so far my initial impressions of them are that they're too damned short in the LOP for my liking, but then again I have a grand total of less than 50 rounds down range with them. That way I'm not out too much when I buy and don't like, and don't lose my shirt too badly if I sell. I'd rather buy a crapload of ammo for a cheaper, uglier gun that I can beat the piss out of.
I also have my other passion to keep in mind. I need a new pair of riding boots and a jacket, plus a set of tires for the bike.
I don't believe in cheap...
Good for you. I do. If I don't have to bet my life on it, and it runs well enough for my purposes, and it's rock-bottom priced, I'm sold.
