I was cleaning out my gun room and came across a bunch of military parts that I don't have a clue how I ended up with them or what there for and what there worth as I'm thinking I'll never use them and might as well sell them.If any one can help me out that would be great !
Thanks

You've got a mixture of M14 or Garand/M1 Carbine/Mauser/Enfield parts, with an FN FAL Flash Hider thrown in for good measure! ;)

Just glancing at the thumbnails...

- M14 Vented handguard
- Model 98 Triggerguard, floorplate and mag follower
- Model 98 Buttplate
- M14/Garand Trapdoor buttplate
- Gewehr 98 "Lange Vizier" Rollercoaster rear sight
- Model 98 Floorplate
- Enfield Trapdoor buttplate
- Model 98 trigger
- M1 Garand Enbloc
- M14 Mag Loader
- Model 98 Recoil Lug assembly
- M14 Front Ferrule
- FN FAL Flash Hider
- Enfield Triggerguard
- Gew98 Front sling band?
- Kar98AZ or similar Bayo Lug and front retainer band?
- Model 98 Ejector Box Assembly
- M1 Carbine Rear Tang? (Not sure of the name)
- Kriegsmodell K98 Front band (or sporterized 98 front band)
- Model 98 front sight assembly
- m1 Carbine front Sight?
- Model 98 Cocking Pieces

I'm by no means the expert on all this, but that's all to the best of my knowledge. Questions marks for items I'm not quite sure about... Plus, even though I own all three great American Autoloaders... I'm again, no means an expert on the differences between m14 and Garand buttplates.... ;)

I'd say $150-$200 for the lot would be a great package price.... more if you want to part out individually.

Cheers!

Well, it probably took me a little less than 20 min.... ;)

But... I see the pics are now bigger! This is a little easier now.

I missed the M1 Carbine rear sight I think...

And there is that funky looking "hook thingy" #10 which I have no clue what it is....

And I mislabled the stock ferrule as for an M14, it's an m1 Carbine ferrule...

#21 could also be an AR stripper clip mag loader or maybe even an M1 carbine loader??? It could still be an M14 stripper clip mag loader... they all look similar...

Also, #18, I think it is actually a South American Mauser Trap Door buttplate... not an M1 butt like I thought from the original thumbnails... Possibly for the Brazilian M954 G43 copy?

Almost positive that #21 is a FAL mag charger.

Decided to make it even easier! Made a list to correspond with your numbers. :)

1 - Thought it might be a "Kriegsmodell" Bayo Lug.. but I cant see the whole lug... Could be just a standard Model 98 Bayonet Lug (Need full picture of it)
2 - Kar98AZ Front Sight Assembly!!!
3 - Model 98 Ejector box/bolt release assembly
4 - Gewehr 98 Style Front Sling Swivel/Handguard Retainer
5 - 2 Mauser Model 98 Cocking pieces
6 - Model 98 Front Sight Assembly
7 - M1 Carbine Recoil Plate
8 - No4 Enfield rear Flip Peep Sight (Solved by CGNer "Bacon Sandwich")
9 - M1 Garand Stock Ferrule/Front Sling Swivel
10 - Kar98AZ Stacking Hook (Solved by CGNer "Dosing")
11 - Model 98 Trigger
12 - M1 Garand 8 Round Enbloc
13 - FN FAL Flash Hider
14 - Model 98 Recoil Lugs
15 - Model 98 Triggerguard Assembly
16 - Gewehr 98 "Lange Visier" (Rollercoaster) Rear Sight Assembly
17 - Model 98 Tiggerguard Floorplate
18 - Mauser TrapDoor Buttplate (Some types of South American Mausers) Many times sold falsely as G43 buttplates...
19 - Enfield Triggerguard
20 - Kar98AZ Bayonet Lug and Front Band Assembly!!!
21 - M14 Stripper Clip Guide for loading Magazines
22 - Model 98 Follower
23 - Model 98 Type Flat Buttplate
24 - Enfield Buttplate

Hope that helps!

Cheers!

Almost positive that #21 is a FAL mag charger.

I'm only familiar with the typical Thermold FN C1A1 Plastic charger guides.....

But it could very well be for one of the FAL type mags too I guess... both are 7.62NATO, and both look damn similar.... Let's just call it a 7.62NATO Steel Charger Guide for Magazines!! WIN WIN!!! ;)

The only part you have for the M1 carbine is # 7 a recoil plate.

Gunsdora would be the guy to know about M1 Carbines! ;)

Damn, shoulda' looked closer... #9 is for an M1 Garand.

Also, That flip peep sight must be aftermarket?? It looked similar to an M1 Carbine flip sight, but definitely wasn't correct, just don't know for what....

Will amend the list to be more...er correct!

I'll be honest, could be M14 but since this is CGN I usually decide to be absolutely sure with my comments and refuse to see it any other way.

Hahahaha!!!! ;)

I've always liked your style Recce!!!

Reminds me of this quote from "BlackAdder Goes Forth":

General Melchett: "If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through."

:D

10 looks very much like the piling hook from a Kar 91 (see the March purchase thread), and I for one would be happy to give you 50$ for it.

Man, Dosing!!!! You are one smart Kitty!!! :)

That is the front stacking hook for a Kar98AZ!!! I couldn't identify it because the whole picture of it was kinda cropped out... Good EYE!!!

I will amend the list again.

Number 10 is a stacking hook from a bolt action battle rifle. Possibly an Arisaka or Lee-Metford. HAG.
21 is a charger guide. No idea for what without seeing it for size. They all look the same. Fits over the mag for filling with stripper clips.
Lot of that stuff is hard to see well enough.

Aperture sight #8 looks to be for Lee Enfield No.4 Mk I. Ought to be marked "300" and "600."

You got it!

I can't believe I missed that one too... I guess since I've only handled a No4 Enfield once might have something to do with it! :)

Will amend the list!

Oh, PS: Also the Poles received the machinery from the Danzig arsenal at the end of WW1 to manufacture the Kar98AZ rifles, which turned into the Polish designated Wz29 series of rifles, so those parts I said were for the Kar98AZ, could also be used on a Polish WZ29 Short rifle...

"Could be used" is the key, Fox: Poles squared-off that pretty stacking hook on their Karabinek.

Seiner Majistaet Wilhelm Hohenzollern, Deutscher Kaiser, Koenig von Pruessen, definitely would NOT have been pleased.

Wish I had seen this thread quicker. Games such as this are a LOT of fun.

Oh my..... a Langvisier sight. Oh well, my Gew 98 has been "1920'd" anyway. Still.....

And there's a........

That triggerguard is for the SMLE and it is an old one, possibly pre-Great War. Certainly not late production.

Oh, funnnn!

Ah Smellie, but by that point the Kaiser and his funky arm had scampered off to the Netherlands for some Speculaas Koekjes and Coffee! ;)

Good to know though, didn't realize the Poles made a stacking hook with a rectangular base!

Actually, when he got off the train he asked his equerry for........

"I should like a cup of tea. I should like a cup of hot, strong, English tea."

Try ignoring that one at your local kaffeeklatsch!

BTW, did you know that you can fake quite a passable Wienerschnitzel from a Pork Loin Chop, a bit of Egg Wash and some Bread crumbs? Buck and a half a plate when the frozen Pork Loins are on for 2 bucks a pound. Serve with Lemon........ Yummm!

Afrika Korps never had it so good; they were down to "AM" by the time it ended: Italian tinned meat. The brand was rumoured to stand for "Asinus Mussolini": "Mussolini Mule".... in Latin, of course: MUST be properly Roman!
