I don't see where a quality issue could be. As to seating depth: The bullet in the Wolf round may not have as thick a jacket as that on the AE round - which would explain the hundredths of an inch difference in length (presuming the bases are seated identically). A thinner jacket of copper, requires more (heavier) lead in the profile which will result in an overall smaller bullet. Similarily, some rounds have a mild steel core... much lighter than lead, although I don't think that is the case with AE.
I've used thousands of Wolf rounds (not any 9mm yet) and quality is good as factory rounds - I've only encounter two defective rounds (158gr 38spec SWC) from that.
