XM16E1 Clone Finally Complete! :D

Finally got my A1 Pencil Barrel with original delta ring!

Here she is all put together:





















DPMS lower.
USGI A1 Upper complete. Colt A1 Barrel with 3 prong suppressor. Original USGI A1 furniture.
Weighs in at a slick 6.3 lbs!!!

I guess it's closer to an XM16E1 than an A1. Either way, it's my only AR15 and I loves her The more I beat the s**t out of her, the better she looks.

One day I'll track down a retro lower reproduction to make her complete. If the government doesn't steal my property before then I guess.

I have my fingers crossed for you. I know how frustrating it is to take the effort to find all those parts, then have to drop them on a fourth generation receiver.

Where did you get the triangular handguards? I haven't been able to find them.

Very very nice love the tri grips, I also decided to go a similar path and converted my Oly back to how I got 20 years ago, love the lightness and no batteries needed configuration.

I did source a smaller CAR 15 brake, kept the QD sling buffer tube ring, and of course a real metal CAR stock (no plastic) also prefer the fatter grips, not correct but damn it shoots tight with it's 5.56 barrel.

Where can I get the old school forward assist button ?

The one I got actually came with the upper.

I managed to find a complete USGI upper with ejection port cover and the tear drop assist.

They are around. You can find some as well as a lot of non illegal import/export small parts on the EE on a certain ar15.com site down South.

That's all I'm saying about that lol

I am doing the same thing, don't have all components yet, but do have a the super scarce ANPVS-2 and mount, seen here on my Dlask AR

My build so far. waiting on the Colt upper and a couple of other parts,

That is insane! I won't even ask what one of those would be worth with the mount.

That is a great retro gun OP. My holy grail is a trigger charging handle prototype rifle made with parts from NODAK SPUD. If Nodak ever gets out from their massive pile of backorders I will buy one and shoot it till the barrel falls off.
