Don't use your truck door to steady your T97

I always understood that shooting from/around a "motor vehicle" (boat, car, atv...) to mean that while you can, the vehicle in question must be stopped, and engine shut off. I knew an old farmer who in his last years would watch for deer from inside his truck: He never was successful those last couple years before he died, but I'd like to know how one could open the door without spooking the deer - I think the idea was he'd wind the window down to shoot.

What's an SATT? Sanitary Authorization To Tinkle?

Problem with this forum is the people who thrive on correcting everyone else by pointing out perceived mistakes and implied lack of judgment. They get off on it, and likely do it in real life too, which alienates them in their social circle. Unbeknownst to them.

Nah most internet bullies are cowards who would never have the balls to say anything to your face... not pointing fingers at anyone in particular here, just saying that most people that attack or troll people online do it because they have the anonymity of their keyboard. They're also the ones who ride your ass when your driving down the road and finger you but would never say anything to your face... cowards

On the other hand, perhaps some need to keep an open mind and realize that all 3 levels of government can have a say in regulating firearms use and that it is not a level playing field across the entire country.

What I don't get is why anyone wants to comment about what he was doing wrong... I never thought anything about it other than.... Doh! bet he wont do that again... I'm not here to judge him, its not like he saying shot from your truck its a great idea, quite the opposite actually.

You know you're not one of the worst I've seen so don't take it too personally, I wouldn't say you attacked him. But for J. sakes I do get tired of the people who do attack... as I said earlier I posted a picture of a shotgun with shells in the side saddle and got attacked for posting a loaded shotgun in my house... people need to stick to the topic and if they feel the need to say something to someone send a polite PM.

I liked what someone said earlier about it being like the kid in class that has to say..."teacher teacher, look at what johnny did wrong"

Sometimes I think 12 year olds have more class

You mean like the member here that turned a simple pic thread I started into I'm breaking transport and storage laws and kept on it ruining my thread because of all the verbal diarrhea responses to his BS and it was eventually deleted. Then proceeded to pm me and rant about how right he was and how the thread was deleted because I was breaking the law in the span of half a dozen pm's. Meanwhile two RCMP officers commented that nothing was wrong with what I was doing. Yet according to this member making accusations I was going to be arrested and have the book thrown at me blah blah blah.

Sad day when people in the same community turn on each other and report each other. Its no wonder the liberals walk all over us.

And frankly I'm getting tired of it.

The OP did nothing wrong and is just giving a friendly heads up and all the safety weenies start posting about laws that don't exist.

Wow, talk about blowing things all out of proportion.

Chuckbuster is correct when he warns that the "rules" differ greatly from province to province...and I don't see a problem with keeping each others' 6.

There was a poster that had been contemplating a move to NS, for example, and wanted to know the location of some good target shooting areas, gravel pits or other places he could go shoot.

Well, guess what? There is none. Even on your own property, you can only legally discharge a firearm (or even be carrying one) if you meet all the requirements to be there legally hunting.
Welcome to NS.

That is sad for sure. I've learned so much in the year I've been here, but I have to admit sometimes some of the behavior makes me want to leave. Trolls are part of internet life, but sadly I don't think its all trolls I think there are people in the gun community that thrive on being "right" and calling people out.

I had one "member" here tell me I should move out of my parents house and not have a loaded gun at home... needless to say it was never loaded in the first place.

I tell ya these clowns will bring us all down if its allowed to go on

That's the opinion I'd expect from you Frosty... you're a good hall monitor

mean while some of us come to talk about guns....

Maybe, just maybe if someone is talking about doing something illegal or wrong perhaps its the domain of the moderators here not the bystanders?

I know a couple girls that i work with that I'd love to ride their ass and finger.....wait. wrong forum, sorry.

Here is another do not do with the 97. We all went to the camp by sleds for the weekend. I brought the 97 with me. Put it on the gun rack in the camp and there it sat, left the ammo in my bag. Luke, a friend of mine wanted to try it, I told him sure, you know where the gun and ammo is. He has his PAL and is pretty decent with a gun, so he grabs it and goes outside to the target. I forgot he was a lefty. Busted his lip pretty well, we all had a good laugh over it though.

Rough day, man. I've never had the misfortune of damaging my truck while shooting... Though around here there are endless stories of people shooting their own trucks out of stupidity. As to the whiners, I find I'm spending a lot less time on CGN lately and repurposing that time to guns and that wretched carcass in the side yard. I think its called a Toyota.

I shoot off my sled deck on my truck in my field all the time. That way I can see over the tall grass and stubble in the summer, and snow in the winter.

My first car was a 93 Mazda 323 those things a tanks never let me down once
(Mechanically) body rotted out so out to pasture it went

Took 2 slugs to do the motor in was quite surprised

Mine was a '94. Very reliable. Wasn't thinking straight when I sold it and bought a pickup that sucked gas way too much. Plus the 323's roof was the perfect height for a rest.

wow that got out of control fast. I had a little oops so have a little laugh make a mental note and move along. thank god i didn't mention the time we were all hammered shooting a .50 out the sunroof at gophers while doing 180km/h through traffic. <----- that's a joke in case anyone has their panties on to tight to realize it.
