you know, I've been going through all the ammo sponsors and nobody seems to have any cases of .22LR for sale. I'm not keen on buying boxes of 50 or 500 at full price to make up a case of 5000.

TulAmmo doesn't make .22LR (it appears), AmmoSupply has nothing, CanAmmo has nothing, Budget Shooter Supply has nothing. this is frustrating.

Am I missing something?

You will find random .22 shortages everywhere these days, but varying from city to city. Depending on where in bc you are, you might be lucky. Last I saw, island outfitters in Victoria had some bulk..... Info is a month old though.

About a week ago I bought a case of Blazer from Italian in Vancouver for $225 to $230 before taxes. Not a great price but lower than most others in these troubled times. International in Surrey also has case lots of American Eagle at around $260 that I saw on that same day.

Depending on where you are located,..I could bring you some bulk ammo from Alberta next time I come to BC. Or order it from P and D enterprises in Edmonton, Bartons in Grande Prairie. Bartons always has MASSIVE supplies of bulk ammo.

hey Hairy, I'm in Vancouver Prime...Kits to be exact.

I should have my brother swing by P&D and see what they have. my folks are from Kamloops and they're up seeing their granbee (2 weeks old). dad doesn't have a PAL, but it's fortunate you don't need one to transport or be in possession of ammunition! LOL!

My local canadian tire, calgary shawnessay, has a bucket of bullets, Remingtons I believe they were, for 75 bucks. was a good 4 liter size pail. doesn't seem like a bad option.

I guess in my mind, A dirty rifle is unacceptable and no matter what you shoot there will be some mess.

From what I have understood from reading about ammo and ballistics, bulk ammo lacks consistency. I saw a u-tube video where a guy was sorting his ammo by head space with a micrometer, sorting by size etc.

I wonder if you weigh each round if you could sort them into batches that have more similar powder charges etc for target shooting?

I know not everyone is so concerned with accuracy, but if you are this could be a cheap solution. Has anyone actually found a way to improve the qualities of cheaper bulk ammo?

Yeppers!!!!
But like I said, if your gun likes them, who's to judge.
I learned not quickly judge those who only buy 12cents + per round match grade ammo.
However if I was competing, then yes I'd spend the money.

I am going to just go with the idea that most match grade ammo is the same as cheaper stuff, but sorted into batches by weight.

If I am wrong... no big deal, at least I am saving $.

If I am right that is awesome I can get more bang for the buck.

As far as getting laid goes.... I am new to shooting sports.... if buying primo expensive ammo gets people laid.. well I might just buy some... LOL

Thats the low end of match grade ammunition. The true uber-expensive stuff is eye-bleeding. Easier to shoot centre-fire at those prices, i mean premium centre-fire, not bulk. I have seen some Eley and SK at over 50 cents per round.
