HK P7 Order -SFRC

Yeah, I've got too much time on my hands, but I'd noticed that the activity on this thread has ebbed and flowed over the past few months...spurts of posts, then quiet for a bit, then a bit more. Anyway, here's a breakdown of the posts per day so far.

I spoke with them again today. I don't know what else to tell you besides I was told they are still waiting for the gunsmith to inspect them....it sucks for me too!

My gosh... Show this to the distributor or whoever has them as say get them to these poor people who want them!

just curious as to whether those that made the "list" re the potential number available recieved any confirmation of a place in the que? I had sent in a reply on Jan 13th but never heard anything back.

Thanks for the heads up Ryan but I personnally find it awkward that "they" offered BB those P7's in September of 2013 then to you in December and now, over 6 months after the initial offer and over three months after "they" told you that the guns were here and ready to ship "they" are still not able to deliver the goods blaming the lack of a smith to perform the inspection... We both talked about this deal a few months ago and I know how many P7's are "supposedly here" and how much of an investment this deal is all about. I really need to ask if you saw the guns, cuz if you didn't, it sure looks like they don't exist or that they do exist but we will never get them "IN" the country or in our safes...

Distributor buys a supposed stash of guns made in the 1980's. Wouldn't you want a smith to inspect each one first?

If they are truly new in the box an inspection of a few and a quick glance at the rest would be sufficient. A fairly detailed inspection would only take a few minutes per gun.

And how would you know for sure and want to be able to back what your selling up with a warranty if you didn't inspect them all?

You ever stripped a P7? It would take a good 15 min to give it a thorough inspection of the barrel, trigger group, gas piston etc etc.

I'd rather they inspect them all before selling them. Especially if there are a bunch in there that slip through the cracks and are either missing a part or not new in box. Lots of possibilities with a gun that's been stored for over 20 years.

Pathetic business practice on the distributors part. If you offer something for sale, find someone who wants them, agree to sell them, then just ship the f@cking things and move on. I don't see the point in dragging heels like this, to what end? Very odd.

these guns were suppose to be here in october from another dealer and the guns were suppose to be in Canada at that time.I don't by the gunsmith thing would it take 6 month to inspect a few handguns

i doubt these have any sort of warranty. they are old stock after all.

yes i have stripped one. and to fully function test any pistol takes seconds, if the function test showed anything untoward then do a more detailed inspection. either way, it's not a 6 month affair. even if you said 30 min per gun, it could be done in days, not months.

hell, i can completely strip an MP5, clean and check every part and have it back together in 15 min. and the p7 is similar in function in many ways to the delayed blowback of the mp5.

What! No warranty? Nobody said nothing about these having no warranty!

:p

If they're being inspected, at least it's not RCMP or CBS or some other mix of letters holding things up. That's assuming it's not some agency's gunsmith... And even if a P7 barrel is 104.9 (someone discipline that man for even suggesting it!) the added 1.6mm of 9mm head space, measured correctly from muzzle to breech, makes them all officially 107. Any fraction of a mm must be rounded up.

looks like this current spike in activity is continuing the monthly pattern nicely....

The reason for the prohibited FRT initially was because RCMP went by manufacturer specs of 105mm. When measured to Canadian standard (to the back of the breech) all P7 measure to around 106.6mm. H&K manufacturing tolerances are to a fraction of a millimetre so they are all the same, and I have never seen one that was actually prohibited.

Those of you that know me, know that the P7 is my favorite gun and that I have some knowledge of the platform. I am a P7 armorer and I would like offer my time gratis for the good of the community (I am not on the waiting list). A P7 can be function checked and visually inspected in minutes, if not less. I am driving distance to the distributor, and would be glad to drive down, spend the day and inspect these pistols. So they will no be hesitant, I will come with police background clearance in hand and firearm business employment references.

PS: crunchiespg you are confusing the P7 with P9s. The P9s is the one with the roller delayed blow back like the MP5.

Can't wait to see what TW will answer to this... No excuse this time.
