Seeing lots of other things I'm tempted in getting myself. I suggest Ryan give a stern talking to the distributor and see if they are actually coming.
My gosh... Show this to the distributor or whoever has them as say get them to these poor people who want them!
Does the Smith have to look at every single one?
Distributor buys a supposed stash of guns made in the 1980's. Wouldn't you want a smith to inspect each one first?
If they are truly new in the box an inspection of a few and a quick glance at the rest would be sufficient. A fairly detailed inspection would only take a few minutes per gun.
i doubt these have any sort of warranty. they are old stock after all.And how would you know for sure and want to be able to back what your selling up with a warranty if you didn't inspect them all?
You ever stripped a P7? It would take a good 15 min to give it a thorough inspection of the barrel, trigger group, gas piston etc etc.
I'd rather they inspect them all before selling them. Especially if there are a bunch in there that slip through the cracks and are either missing a part or not new in box. Lots of possibilities with a gun that's been stored for over 20 years.

Yeah, I've got too much time on my hands, but I'd noticed that the activity on this thread has ebbed and flowed over the past few months...spurts of posts, then quiet for a bit, then a bit more
The reason for the prohibited FRT initially was because RCMP went by manufacturer specs of 105mm. When measured to Canadian standard (to the back of the breech) all P7 measure to around 106.6mm. H&K manufacturing tolerances are to a fraction of a millimetre so they are all the same, and I have never seen one that was actually prohibited.
Those of you that know me, know that the P7 is my favorite gun and that I have some knowledge of the platform. I am a P7 armorer and I would like offer my time gratis for the good of the community (I am not on the waiting list). A P7 can be function checked and visually inspected in minutes, if not less. I am driving distance to the distributor, and would be glad to drive down, spend the day and inspect these pistols. So they will no be hesitant, I will come with police background clearance in hand and firearm business employment references.
PS: crunchiespg you are confusing the P7 with P9s. The P9s is one with the roller delayed blow back like the MP5.
