does the SR22 live up to all the amazing hype and reports?

SR 22 is 33" with stock collapsed. So if you put a regular 10/22 carbine into a Nordic chassis with Ruger 6 pos stock, you' d be around 35.5" OAL.

You *can* get down to a 26" long SR with short bbl / fixed stock combinations as still keep it non-restricted.

If you want to customize it with your own HG, stock, bbl, anyways, it can be a little cheaper going with a 10/22 + Nordic chassis.
thanks

i got the sr 22 with the 16 inch barrel, i removed the polymer barrel brace lock tighted the v block screws stoned the trigger a bit, put a 3-9 scope ,magpul ctr cause the old stock rattles and the buttler creeks are ok if you load them to 20 and run cci, otherwise the stock 10 rounders will run anything. i freaking love this rifle :)

I am a reluctant convert to the SR-22. Before I had one I thought it was just some "tacticool" cladding on a 10-22 that makes it heavier and harder to field strip for cleaning. I ended up trading an unwanted AR upper for a lightly used SR-22, thinking I would try it out and then probably sell it. However the SR-22 turned out to be a great little rifle that can be easily customized, it is very reliable and remarkably accurate. Since owning my SR-22 I have sold my dedicated TAC SOL AR upper. The SR is just more fun and non-restriced.

I have an sr22 I purchased this January, ran about 1500rounds through it and its gotta be one of the cheapest and most accurate thing to run! shoots inside a Looney easily at 50yrds with a 1x5 legend I put on it. runs well with butler creek mags. I'll probably put a short barrel and magpul stock and an afg and it will be great all around

where does one buy one of these? I'm interested in the MSR RX 22 G Black Hawk.

If you read the description, it's a GSG made, same chassis as the ISSC.22, with (they are saying) an Annie barrel.

My understanding is that the ISSC .22 reviews have been....mixed.

For an SR, try P&D in Edmonton.

Cheers

ISSC 22 reviews have been mixed, but this is not an issc 22 we are talking about, so why base your reviews on a different gun that is similar? Its like saying a rem sps got mixed reviews so all remingtons must not be that good. If its got an Annie name it deserves its own review

If I were you I'd go the Troy T-22 route. Seems like a better overall chassis than the SR-22. Apparently lighter than the sr-22 when its all put together as well.

I'm thinking of going this route as well. Plus one of the sponsors (don't remember which one) has the troy stock with the 10/22 barrel/receiver for $600. Keep in mind with the Troy stock there are 2 versions, one with one picatinny rail and one with 4. TC

I've got a Troy t-22 as well and I built it just how I want it . It is a great chassis but it does have one draw back that bugs me . The front and back halves are held together with two pinch bolts , no matter how tight these bolts are ( locktite or not ) They don't come come loose but they don't hold either and every shot you take causes separation between the front and back halves , so after 75-100 rounds or so the front quad rail will fall off ( unless you loosen the pinch bolts move it back and re-tighten ) . Nutnfancy did a review on this chassis and it happens to him , he blames his son I think for not lock tighting the pinch bolts , but I believe this is a weakness in the chassis system , if somebody has a fix for this id love to hear it . All in all I love the t-22 and won't ever sell it but I would like to remedy this problem

I have one of these ordered as well, do you use a scope on yours? I'm wondering if this is the case, will I have a POI problem with a scope mounted

I do have a scope mounted and the poi does start to climb , that's what usually tips me off to loosen / tighten the pinch bolts . It's really not a huge deal but it does bug me . The end of the rail were the end of your scope would be is held into the lower part with a key way ( hope this makes sense ) and it takes a lot of rounds 4 banana mags and the stock 10 rounder to even notice the shift , but if you wait to long it will separate , it doesn't damage anything and just before it separates I will give it to a friend to shoot and when it happens I say " holy #### you broke it ! " lol ! Always good for a laugh

Thats gonna bother the b-jesus out of me if that happens, I would be resetting it 5 times in one outing in the gopher patch. Hopefully mine is a little better, otherwise I'll have to get creative

Read the description. It is made by GSG, with the Anschutz name on it. It IS an ISSC 22, from the same people that built the rest of the ISSC 22's.
It 'might' have better accuracy, if GSG didn't #### up the chambering on the Anshutz barrel blank.

" This weapons system made by German Sport Guns is well known, sophisticated and has been sold 150000 times."

They didn't all have an Anchutz sticker, but they came off the same assembly line.

That's why.

They are the same gun.

Will you be shocked to find out that GM has been selling Toyotas with GM badges too? It's not a new thing, they needed a product to sell with their name on it, or were approached to market a ready made product with their name on it, which is pretty likely too, by GSG, purveyors of replicrappy firearms that look like real guns...

this happens with the archangel kit as well as the tapco, seems nordic systems chasis set up works best thats why ruger uses it in their sr22 system with the ruger name on it.

I never had any issues with my Arch Angel 556 kit after a few thousand rounds and a couple of years now. I did locktite the top/bottom halves and did add a 20mm low profile top rail riser which completely locks the front half to rear half together. Super rigid and nicer to shoot the Poly in cold weather. :)

My SR22 rocks! Just dropped about 350$ into it from Zahal on customizing it. I got bit by the modular bug!
Just picked up some steel lips 25rnd mags and a steel lipped 50rnd drum. Here's hoping!

ran mine today 100 percent at a tactical 22 match, by the end of the match i had my sights dialed in and had a great last run, now if i only didnt miss a row of targets lol. still i watched everyone with 10 22s or ar conversions have issue after issue but mine ran 100 percent :) sr22s rock!

Just out of curiosity, what type of ammo and mags are you using? If i use the stock 10 rounder mine runs flawlessly with most types of ammo. But if i use my archangel magazines it's really hit and miss with all types of ammo including mini mags. Usually 3-4 failures per magazine.

Thanks.

I have the 10 22 with the 18 1/2 barrel . 2 questions. 1 . Can I cut 2 or 3 inches off the the barrel and still be NR? As long as overall length is 26 inches , right. Or do it have to be a factory 16 inch barrel. 2. This is my first time trying this and I have little experience with fire arms, so is this going to be a pain in the azz , for me, to do these mods ?
