I think I'm going to get banned from un-escorted trips to Canadian Tire.

Made the usual Sunday trip to CT for parts and do-dads and whatnots to keep the house and car all running smoothly... And this cute Little Badger just fell into my shopping cart and followed me home. It just looked so lonely on the rack without an owner, how could I say no?

Didn't manage to get it in the front door without the wife noticing, now she's threatening to make me take my daughter with me to CT whenever I go.

But no worries. Even if I lose my day passes to CT, the local barber shop sells guns and ammo. I'll just be an immaculately coiffed fella from now on.

Oddly enough part of my (post-purchase) rationale behind the Little Badger, is that because it's a lightweight single shot break action, it will be a good training rifle for my daughter within the next year or so. She's only 6 now, and "not quite there yet" (maturity wise, careful, non-excitable, yes, she's there. Manual dexterity, notsomuch - every kid is different).

In the meantime, it'll be a fun little plinker and something inconsequentially small to throw in the trunk/backpack on camping trips.

Some people have reported that the stock length is a bit too much for their kids. Something like the Savage Rascal might be better due to having a shorter buttstock as well as light weight.

Sounds like somebody needs a secret bank account and to wait until wifey falls asleep before introducing new guns to the safe.....

Your barber shop sells guns and ammo!?

Well... time for a hair cut!

Yup. Welcome to Calgary. ProLine Shooters and Barber Shop is within walking distance of where I live. It's actually one of the best little gun shops, well, pretty much anywhere.

The owner supplies pretty much every movie shoot that comes through town. He has a legendary collection of 12(x)

Wait, where is this barbershop!!!

I think a badger is too much. For one thing the short barrel is super noisy even with subsonics.
My 6yo daughter is learning on a gamo little cat. I wanted the lady recon but nobody seemed to stock it.
The gamo has less noise to startle her, is light to not make her arms tired and still has plenty smash to take out gophers at 50 feet.
She is already punching excellent groups in paper at 20 yds and is looking forward to gopher season this year.

Thanks, that's some good advice. And it will give me an excuse to buy something else as well. Little ears are way more sensitive to the "bang" than a lot of us realize.

Calgary. Inglewood to be precise. Proline Barber. Proline Gunshop. Same entrance, two different rooms.

It's the best.

It is... Especially when they leave the door to the back room open and you get to sneak a peak at some of the cool stuff sitting back there - that for various reasons will never make it onto the shelves. Small shop, but staffers who know their business.

I have seen what is behind the door. I don't know how, but I got a tour. I have seen, and it is good. Haha

That's awesome! I am really wanting a trip to Calgary my next haircut!

Btw order the cat from the us, all Canadian ones get a different piston to take them from 700 fps to 495. Hence Canadian vesions are just toys.

Awesome ... and really cool

I'm ready for a haircut, and it seems like it may be worth the drive.

It is worth it, smallish shop, but the gems are there. Chuck and Aaron behind the counter know thier stuff.

Brian, been going to see him since the heady days of the Toys for Big Boys era on Macleod Trail....

Oh...those 80's!

you cant be talking about the little badger being too noisy?
cause i have one and i shoot it with no ear muffs on and i can barely hear it.
it is by far the quietest 22 ive ever shot.
and thats blasting Blazers not even sub sonics.

Ah, of course! I wandered in there one day, but had since forgot about the barber shop. The "Fine Diner" just down the street had good food. That was a good day, the Misses and I just wandered around that area for an afternoon.
