I don't especially want a 6 shots over a 10 shots.

The gun in the second picture is quite unique as it has the fluting of a 6 shooter but holds 10.
I never knew such a model existed. Learn something new every day!

I bought mine 617 this year on the Father's Day special S&W sale for $850+tax no shipping, brand new from Bulls Eye London.
That was a VG deal ! Now they are 929$ + taxes.

I originally bought a 617 ( 10 round cylinder). But I sold it because I am a blued steel kind of guy so the model 17 was more my type. But I also like the full underlug look and very few 17 models have that configuration. It took some time but I found a 17-6 (6 shots) in very good condition. Old school with the recessed chambers. It is a fantastic revolver.
