1" at 25 yd precision for handgun?

We're sorry. The page you are looking for is no longer available or has been changed.

Thats all I see.

the reason I can't believe is, even sig p210 which was recognized as the best precision handgun in the world can not shoot 1" at 25 yard.

1" @ 25 yds is pretty standard among custom 1911's . You can get a gaurantee from Les Baer Custom of 1.5" @ 50yds , and no you dont double your 25yds to get your 50yd accuracy . Here is 10 rounds @ 50yds from a Les Baer owner on 1911 forum .

we always talk about in a rest.
You are talking about accuracy of a firearm which as many have pointed out, isn't unheard of nor uncommon. Precision of the shooter is a different story...that's where human error comes in.

For the amount of money that these "Big Name" 1911 builders in the US ask for their guns, ie Wilson Combat, Les Baer, Heinie, that gun better shoot that good. there is one fellow I have seen at my club shot like that at 25 yards with a factory 226, so in my opinion, Wilson is not that impressive for $3000.00.

Guys, remember, talking about the accuracy of "semi-automatic" handguns is meaningless, unless you also mention the type.

The S&W 52 is a bullseye pistol, 1inch group is not a big deal. I shoot a Pardini .32S&W semi-auto, I can get sub-1 inch groups without too much of a problem, with match ammo.

When you start talking about out-of-the-box duty guns, like a CZ, or a Sig, etc - the level of accuracy/consistency tends to be much lower, since that's not what those guns are designed to do, they have other priorities.

If I need to hit a coin at 25m I'll take my Pardini; if I need to shoot an IPSC match, I have my CZ SP01 ;)

So, yes, an inch group at that distance is definitely doable with a "semi-automatic" pistol, if you don't specify any other restrictions on it.

Accuracy

I own a P226 sport II SL (9mm). From a rest, it shoots 7/8 inch groups at 25 meters (27 yards).
Sub-inch groups at 25 yards are indeed possible with custom 1991s as well and most likely with some other pistols.

My SIG P220 shoots 1" at 25yds. Even the factory target that came with the gun is 1 1/4" at 25m (27yds). And, thats a stock pistol right out of the box with less than 500 rounds.

I expect better once she's broken in and settles down (no, I don't mean my wife):p

PPC shooters in the Semi-auto Distinguished event would be loathe to approach the line with a pistol that would not do at least that well.... I missed a chance to trade for a custom job 1911 .38 super this summer which had a test target showing a group around 1" from 50 metres. Mind you this is a pistol that was listed for about $2500 used, so you can imagine the level of tuning involved!

1" at 25 yrds, no problem, done it many times with my Mark23, when I'm not just f ing around. Usually one big hole that my fist can go through, should be many one inch groups within :p

I have a Colt Delta Elite 10mm that has had a lot of mod's done to it including a 6" Barsto barrel and over the years I had most of the work done by Joe @ Dlask Arms. I have had over $2500.00 in work done to it since I bought it new in 1987.

When I do my part I can repeatedly produce sub-1" groups at 25 yards.

Other than the extremely sh**ty bluing job that was done to it the last time that I had work done to it (I won't state who did the work other than it wasn't Joe), it is the most awesomely accurate handgun that I own.

It now mostly sits in my safe that is until I can afford to get it reblued somewhere else.
