1 MOA Challenge 2012

Not going to make this one. Just chambered a new barrel and need to work the load to be ready for the PR match on the 2nd.

Well well well, what a day for a shoot. It was a great day and we have a winner for the MOA Challenge on his first attempt. His fuel of chance was 22-250 Rem. I did not get a chance to take a picture of his target but there were 3 people to verify the target. Here is a picture of the winner with his prize; Congratulations and great shooting.

Man it was a nice day today. Wish I had been shooting instead of building a garden shed!! How were the winds down there?
Good job to the winner of this challenge!

And a true gentleman, refused to take up my offer of paying for his day out, even though he won fair and square. I believe he was shooting a Kimber .22-250 with 50 gr match bullets. He layed down and rattled it off like it was nothing. Cold barrel, converted his 2 sighters and only fired 10 shots in total. So much for fouling the barrel eh Norm? His second attemp with another rifle a .204 missed the 1 MOA but not by much. Amazing shooting!

Now the problem is he said he is coming back and going to bring some friends that really know how to shoot:eek: I might have to take out a second mortage. I will be sure to start up the wind machine on those days.

It was a great day at the range and I am so happy someone won this challenge. I will however, keep this offer open for the remainder of the shooting season at Cedar Springs. Now if I could just get Syxx15 to make up some more plaques.

I want to thank the Cedar Springs Rifle Club for their hospitality. It is a nice range to shoot on though I imagine the wind can get pretty fierce right of the lake. All the shooters were friendly and helpfull and totally Fudd Free. If any CGN members want to try long range shooting this is the place to come.
My rifle is a kimber 84 M longmaster VT in 22/250 and Sightron 10-50x60 Scope Weaver rings and base. Load is Nosler brass WLR primers 36gr Varget and Bill Mitchells 50 1/2 gr Bench Rest Bullets.
I had a very enjoyable day but for me 2 shots across a wide hayfield is as good as 1/2 day at the range.
Guess I prefer warm targets that bleed.
Thank-you

I would be more than please to take a motorcycle ride to your range on a friday or saturday and go shoot with new aquaintances, if you give me your coordonates, i will see when i can go and let you know... Cheers. JP.

Me and my brother and a couples of goods friend have a place in Jarnac in Gatineau that was convert to a 100-800 metres kind of private range, i can access it 12 months a year either in car, on foot, snowmobile or ATV, almost all my shooting is done there... for the rest of my shooting, i go to Le Pionnier and le Ruisseau noir mainly in the week, were there is almost nobody and is close to my main house, i am looking to find a range in the Ottawa region, this is not to far from my wife family farm near Hawksburry... JP.
