10,000 Enfields!

Not sure if someone else already posted this, but I read the bolts do not match in serial number with the rifle. This is a problem, and you'll run into saftey issues regarding head spacing. Each rifle will have to be checked with a gauge, and if it's not good, then a gunsmith will be needed to make the headspace right. Could be expensive with this many guns.

We'll need a website where people post their bolt numbers from this batch and people with the rifles can buy/swap them and we'll all get matched up with the right bolts. :)

Dear Customer,

A few weeks ago, you had expressed some interest in a quantity of Lee
Enfields , (Longbranch models) offered by Euroarms in Italy..
We have recently heard from Euroarms and they are now ready to export to
Canada.

These No.4 rifles are in very good to excellent condition with 80-100%
bluing on the metal and most still have the original tags
signed by the inspector at the Canadian armory. Most of the wood stocks are
in excellent to factory new condition.

There is also a quantity of No.1 rifles in good - very good condition.
These ones have a few bumps or scratches, however according to Euroarms, the
metal parts show little wear and most of the bluing is in tact.
The bores and barrels are good-very good.

According to Euroarms, all the Lee Enfields need, is a little cleanup and
then can be fired.

Both rifles will be priced the same @ $446.00 each cdn. (The Euro dollar
exchange and air freight costs account for the pricing).
Tax and shipping to your location from Halifax will be extra.

At present we do not know how many L.E's Euroarms still has on hand.
I am assuming that many European dealers have already bought the bulk of
them.

Bayonets are available @ $115.50 for sword type No.1
$33.49 for the spike No. 4 style.

Delivery to Halifax will be 60-90 days after payment is made and order
confirmed.
Euroarms takes the enitre month of August off for the summer.

We will have to put together a volume order to make the shipment worthwhile
so an order for just a couple will not do.
I am hoping there will be enough interest in these things to warrant a large
shipment from Italy.

Hope these may still be of interest to someone out there. If so, just let us
know.
We will need some responses in 1 week so that we can pass the message onto
Euroarms to please hold a quantity for us.
Loyalist Arms will not be stocking any of these rifles. We will merely be
importing them as required, should there be enough demand..

Hope this is helpful.
Your Servant,
Blair Higgins.

Hmmmmmm...

I'd love to see some of these rifles make it back to these shores...but $446 seems a bit much. Those #1's look pretty rough around the edges.

if they are in that good of shape i think it might not be a bad price.

those tags make 'em interesting to collectors! Does that make them "new"? I wonder if they're all cosmo'ed up?

I was going to jump on one for that reason, but after seeing the webpage:
" Bolts are not matching number because all the weapons have been stored in the various Italian Navy Arsenals with the bolt disassembled and separate from the guns for safety reasons."

That kills it for the collector since it'll have a mismatched bolt. :(

I am not willing to pay that much for a mismatched rifle.

My Personal opinion on the subject:

- No.1 and No.4 Bayonets are available at a much cheaper price from several sources in Canada right now.

- Pricing on the mismatched LB No. 4's even in Excellent condition is unbelievable and on the No.1's just plain ridiculous.

I got the same e-mail recently...talk about BS, waaay over priced, for something I know for a fact they are paying as scrap metal per ton.

What a scam.

Recieved this yesterday

Dear Mr.Ridley,
I apologize for the delay in my update but we are very busy with the big
lot.
I confirm you that the Enfield are still for sale, are available and we are
going to sell them all over the world.

At the moment we do not have any agreement with any Canadian distributor and
we are not selling the Enfield abroad because we have many requests from our
Italian customers to satisfy first.
Beside that the work of checking them, cleaning and matching the bolts is
quite long.

I'll certainly inform you about the Canadian distributor (I suppose you are
canadian from your e-mail address) as soon as we'll have one.

In the meantime you can have a look at some pictures connecting with

The text is still in Italian but we are going to translate it soon

Thanks again for the interest in our products and please fell free to
contact me for any question you may have.

Best Regards

Overpriced, yes a little, but with the Canadian Arsenal tag and a matched bolt, I think I would buy one...Isn't the history behind them worth it? If you look at the runaway inflation on L.E. prices in recent years, a couple of these in grease looks better all the time...

A friend who is a large dealer in the USA and does business with most of the US Importers told me he doubts they will make it to the USA to.

How is Denis, anyhow? ;) Does he still collect Roman Denarii on the side?

so they ARE going to make efforst to match the bolts up? Hmmm... Still overpriced on the No.1's, but if the LB's are unissued with arsenal tags and matching bolts, $446 is not at all a bad price.
