First off, I'm not a newb to 10/22's. I've had over 30 of them - and none remained stock. I've got folders, krinkers, nordics, etc... I love them, but I know they aren't precision rifles.
My problem is with a 16" barrel model. At 20 yards, 2 or 3 shots on top of each other, then it begins to throw them wherever it wants. Out of 10 shots, 4 or 5 will be where they are supposed to be, and the others are anywhere in a 6" circle at 20 yards.
I've tried different ammo; a variety of factory and aftermarket mags; even changed the scope. It's all the same. Oh and yes the gun is clean.
This particular gun is in a factory wood stock. It has a Hornet trigger group - something that I have in numerous other 10/22's. The 16" barrel was threaded and an A2 flash hider was added - something that I've done on numerous others before.
I just can't figure it out. If they were all spraying, that would be one thing; or if it was every other shot. But there's no pattern to it.
Any ideas???
Thanks
JB
