Going to use this as inspiration for my next 10/22. Awesome thread!
 
Put it all together yesterday and brought it to the range! cleaning is super easy, stayed super accurate at 50 yard after 3 and a half hours of solid shooting. Looks awesome and is awesome to shoot! one of my best buys, worth every penny

Been slowly piecing this guy together, still a long way from done. Bought a brand new 10/22 blued/walnut and swapped the barrel onto my other 10/22. This one got a used stainless barrel pinted krylon khaki. Chassis is an NEA-22, specs as follows:
Brand new (for this build) 10/22 action, unmodified except for T.I. charging handle
Midwest Industries T7 FF handguard w/ trim ring
Magpul AFG painted khaki
Armalite grip, reciever extension and lock ring
Fab buttstock w/ cheek riser
Vortex Strikefire in an airsoft A.R.M.S. mount
cheap airsoft rail covers
All I got is a crappy cell phone pic

I have a TRS-25 Sand on order and tossing around different ideas for iron sights, I may even black everything out. So far it shoots great and has been very reliable. Some minor stovepiping the first time out in well below zero with blowing snow and new BC steel lips mags. 10 rd mags ran flawless. Other than that Ive had 2 or 3 stovepipes out of about 1500 rds.
 
looking good supernova. digging the black/FDE(khaki). i especially like the fab d buttstock. i was thinking of doing the magpul but now im leanig toward this.im doing a build in the same two tone, just waiting for my dlask 8" barrel so i can post some pics.

Where did you get that buttstock? And if you dont me asking, what did it cost? Im liking it, Im thinking i'd like to put one on my Marauder.... ;-)

$65 from Wolverine, they didnt have tan buttstocks with the cheek riser instock so I ordered the riser from Zahal.org. Both places are awesome to deal with. I'm on my 4th order in the last 2 months from Wolverine, the service is always amazing. If you want the riser, see if Wolverine has them instock with the buttstock, theyre only $10 more as opposed to $25 from Zahal.

:agree: black/tan just looks so damn good on a black rifle. Keep in mind that Fab Defense tan is lighter than Magpul FDE so if you mix parts they will not colour match. I do like the buttstock though, and may go with a Fab pistol grip. The Armalite is a near colour match but its a little small and not very ergonomic.
 
Yeah thanks for the tip, I've encountered the color tone differences of different manufacturers on another build I did. Luckily the only magpul fde parts I have for this build so mar is a pair of mbus so it shouldn't be to bad.

as far as i'm aware it's overall length. Nothing to do with the barrel / muzzle at all. Could be a 4" barrel in there and still unrestricted as long as the stock itself is over 26”

Its overall length of the firearm not including a muzzle device. Butt to muzzle of barrel must be 660mm or longer. A 26" stock does guaruntee you'll be long enough but it does not have to be 26" by itself.

why does it guarantee it? What if my barrel is recessed in the stock and butt to muzzle is shorter than 660 but the stock is over 660? Again I keep getting different conflicting answers. Can you picture what i'm asking? I might have to draw up a diagram to explain it because i'm probably not doing a good job of it
