here are the 4 i have.
3 are finished.
the big black beast just below, im done working on that one (i copied the post i had up on the main rimfire page about the build)
this is the 2nd or 3rd revamp of this gun this winter/spring and im finaly happy with it and im gonna go ahead and call this one DONE!
i had it out at the range today and tested it out in the wind and rain and it purrrrrrrred like a kitten!
hopefully when i get off work next week i can have a couple days without wind to see how far i can reach out with it with accuracy.
at any rate, submitted for your approval is my all custom made Ruger 10/22.
Black Hogue Stock.
DAR 22 STERLING RECEIVER With INTEGRAL PICATINNY RAIL.
DLask 18.5" heavy bull barrel.
DLask Compensator.
DLask charging handle (scull pic on the front)
Kid 2 stage trigger set to 1.2lbs (i think, ill test it here in a minute to make sure)
Kid silver scalloped bolt.
Optics is just some cheap glass i picked up.
and a bipod on the front, thinks it champion.
i hand sanded the inside of the receiver with 600, 1500, 2000 wet dry paper then polished it with mothers aluminum polish.
same with the bolt, gave it a mirror shine.
here is a couple pic's of the finished beast and a quick video today from the range in the wind and rain.
the shooting with it today was just off the bipod.
next week ill take the old lead sled out on a calm day and see how tight i can get her to group at the 50 yard mark.
the fist version of this gun i had my 28 year old ruger 10/22 that i got when i was 12 and stripped it down and started from scratch making a tack pusher.
that version failed when i got my Tactical Solution's barrel stuck half way into the new receiver.
version 2 had the whole package on a OD green Hogue stock with all VQ internal parts.
then my 2nd one is my original Ruger 10/22 from 1988.
ive switched out the stock with a Hogue OD Green, a tactical solutions long mag release, a VQ bolt release and all new VQ internals (strut, seer, hammer springs, trigger) all came out of my big build above.
the barrel and receiver are both brand new, i got them off the last build im doing right now (blue gun at the bottom).
the only thing i have left on this one that i want to do it replace the factory iron sites with fiber optic ones.
they are in the mail as we speak.
the third one here is one i picked up new back in 1991.
i was down in the states a month later and picked up the Butler Creek folding stock for it.
love the gun, its probably have over 50k rounds through it.
about a month ago when i was building the gun below (blue one) i took this one out and stripped it down to the bones and gave it a 100% cleaning.
sanded down the inside of the receiver and bolt and polished them back up.
i then put in a VQ bolt release and TS extended mag release.
the mag release didnt fit very well with the pistol grip, but i hit it with some heat and bent it out some.
its actually very handy where it is now.... but ugly as sin.
if i run into a mid sized one some day i may replace it.
last but not least, my latest build.
its not 100% done yet.
ive got some parts still coming in from the states for it.
i have a custom made compensator in the mail for it right now.
it sits deeper on the threaded barrel so there is no space (like the TS one has) and is a bit longer with custom designed hole patterns.
also im fleshing out a gunsmith to send the trigger group too to have it tuned.
would also like to have the trigger and charging handle and scope rings re-anodized blue to match the TS extended mag release.
maybe it will get done this summer/fall.
by far the funnest and funniest 10/22 ive ever had.
every time i take it out everyone who sees it has to grab it.
and so far everyone who has touched it has offered to buy it off me.
3 fella's are currently building their own because they liked it so much.
which dosnt surprise me as i built it after seeing the Pink one here in this thread!
i also have the Tactical Innovation aluminum mags for it, but they are realllllllly tight.
im thinking im going to have to remove the powder coating off the tops of them and polish them up to get them to fit/seat properly.
