Just got M1 Sights coming for it. Other then that. After changing plans 10/22 stock always the nicest.

What issues have you been running into?

The beauty of the 10/22 is so much can be tweaked and changed at home with basic tools.

The receiver had a ton of overcasting splash... It was an hour with a dremel just to smooth things out to the point where it cycled reliably. The ejector was bent, fixed that as well.

The trigger is spongey, even worse than a normal 10/22 trigger (which aren't great to start with). I've tinkered with it a bit to get it to "not horrible" condition.

The barrel... I dunno. Even benching it with front a rear sandbags, with good ammo and a red-dot, I have trouble getting better than 1 inch groups at 25yards (and I can shoot WAY better than that with other rifles and only using a front sandbag).

I need to sand out the barrel channel in the stock - it's beyond rough, running your finger down it picks up splinters.

Anything that could get rough machining and have the polishing stage skipped on it, got rough machining and polishing skipped.

It's a long list of "WTF, how did any of this pass QC???"

I worked on it after I got it just to make it reliable. But by that point, it had me so pissed off I shoved it to the back of the cabinet. It comes out for the odd range trip, just to burn through a couple of GSG mags for sh!ts and giggles. But when it comes to actually hitting what I'm pointing at, I have a number of other options in the cabinet for .22LR, so it gets pretty hard to motivate myself to do anything with the Ruger.

Basically, it came off the assembly line as a hot mess.

Over time, I'll tweak it, make it better. Basically get it to the point I won't be embarrassed to sell it to someone else and recoup some of the cost. Then apply the money to a custom build or something else entirely.

My grampa's 10/22 he got in the 70's was a great little plinker. Fond memories of shooting it back in the late 70's early 80's when I was a kid was what drove me to buy a 10/22. (Grampa's 10/22 is still in the family, and still shoots great - it just isn't in my cabinet).

Impulse buy…. saw these tacstar RM4-SE Kryptek pattern stocks and figured why not. My 10/22 was kinda boring in a the factory synthetic.
Then had some fun with Kryptek duct tape…. I kinda have a thing for the Kryptek patterns.
Anyways.. here she be. The grouse and bunnies won't see me coming!

sorry crappy assed smartphone photos.

So much awesome! Nice looking rifle.

Hi, new to the forums. Just got my new Ruger 10/22 a couple of weeks ago and decided to go with the tactical look. It's my first gun so I have already been learning to tear it down and rebuild it. I will probably spend quite a bit more money on it with better add-ons in the future, but right now I'm really happy with it.
So here's what I have so far:
Ruger 10/22
Promag Archangel AA556R kit (not using the bayonet)
CVLIFE 6-24x50 Red/Green luminated crosshairs
Gadget Zone Tactical Red Dot Laser
UTG Tactical OP Bipod

The Sunoptics was a lot bigget than I thought, but can't complain, it was cheap.

Also got a new barrel for my black 10/22:

I know, there’s a lot of hate for the Archangel kit, but I think I got the bugs worked out. I got a Kidd Extractor for it, and figured out how to make sure the magazine seats properly, no more failure to feed/failure to extract issues, finally runs like a champ.
