Here's my new 10-22, my first. I didn't build it, I bought it from another forum member about 24 hours ago, and apparently
he bought it much as it is now from another member.
It was quite a surprise that I ended up with a .22 as I was looking for an M-305. I got together with the boys on Saturday night
and talk turned to the 10-22. The idea took hold and after a trip to the Exchange Forum here I am!
It's got a lot of goodies although I haven't had it apart yet and haven't identified all the bits.
Nordic Components Chassis
Dlask forend rail on what I am assuming is a Dlask shroud
Dlask 12.5" Bull Barrel
Ace Stock
Side and lower fore-end rails
BUIS
Front Handstop
Tube Mount Sling Point
Fancy Red Trigger, Not sure if this indicates an upgraded trigger group, I'll find that out when I strip it.
Extended mag release with "TS" marked on it. (What's TS by the way, Tactical Specialties?)
And...a selection of mags.
There is also a fake compensator made out of Delrin.
It's a real cool little rifle but one thing that surprised me was the weight, 8.8 lbs.
Not being one to hang a bunch of stuff off my rifle (I'm an old C1 guy) I removed a few extra parts to strip a bit of weight.
The fake compensator went along with the side and lower rails and the handstop. That actually knocked off a pound making it 7.8lbs.
It also helped the balance and made the fore-end much more comfortable to hold.
I'm planning to add some of the weight back by adding a Muzzle Brake and a Red Dot.
The red trigger will be going too. (I know where it is, even if it's black!)
I also have an idea for a cover for the fore-end. (I'll post pics if it works out.)
Of course the HACS 2-day Gun Show is next weekend so we'll see what turns up.
Now I'm really looking forward to shooting this new toy!
