I recieved my laminated stock in the mail today, so now that i had all the parts i needed i removed the 16.5 stock carbine barrel, and installed a 10.5" bul barrel.
The Rifle allready had a bushnel 4-12x40 AO scope, shooters ridge bipod, an uncle mikes sling, VQ extended mag release, 2.5 lb trigger job, and an auto bolt release.

im not sure if i want to cut the stock down a bit yet, the barrel doesnt even stick out past the wood!
OAL length is still good - 28.75 inches
it was going to go into a folding stock but that made it only 19 inches long when collapsed
what do you think?

My personal opinion is to cut the wood and relocate the bipod mount. You can use the original factory stock to see what it looks like before cutting the laminated one.

Wow, preaty cool. Where is the barrel from? You could also cut the back of the stock for a shorter LOP.

awsome, that had me really laughing.

the barrel was from a fellow CGN'er.
Im not too sure how i want to cut the front of the stock back, maybe just on the table saw with the cross cut fence and the blade at a 45, then liberal application of the sander to give it a round contour

Lookin' good fixit! I say chop the stock down a bit to expose the front 1/2" or so of the barrel. Should look even better!

id trim the wood back flush with the muzzel, but even without, nice rifle!

One added benefit of leaving it as is, the crown now has a shield of wood.

if the barrel was threaded, i'd screw on a muzzle brake or faux silencer to finish the look, i am looking for a 11.5 barrel for the wifes squirrel rig

i was wondering if somone was going to pick up on that.

Im kinda second guessing cutting the stock down, just because the wood looks so nice, and i dont want to possibly screw it up. i think im going to try it as is, scorch the wood a bit and look for a longer bull barrel.

i could probably thread it myself, but id need a flash suppressor the same .920" od for it to still fit in the stock.

only problem with those cans is that they are all too large OD.
i would have to turn them down on a lathe so they would fit in the groove of the stock.


i think im just going to try making my own, im just worried about marking the barrel in the chuck when turning the threads into it.

The 1" wouldn't need that much work on the stock... Or you could always use a A2 flash hidder, their wouldn't that much of a difference in diameter between the barrel/flas hidder... and it would protect the tock from been burned by the muzzle flash.

I added a YH flash hider to my ER shaw 11.5 inch brl. Looks perfect now
