10/22 takedown heavy barrel?

I really, really like the design of the Volquartsen barrel, particularly because the barrel-mounted optics rail. My only complaint with the 10/22 TD is the fact that mine just doesn't hold zero if any adjustments are made in the takedown mechanism. But wow - with a landed cost of nearly $500 CAN, it's just not worth it to me.

It would be nice if Dlask would consider making something similar, even if not carbon fibre. I think a shorter, SR-22 profile or stepped barrel with enough metal at the receiver-end to securely mount a scout scope or even a cantilever mount for a regular scope would be just the ticket. And with the dollar where it's at now, he'd make a fortune.

What adjustments are you making? I've broken mine down and dozens of times me with no noticible issues with accuracy.

Just adjusting the tension of the takedown mechanism. Trying to find that perfect tension where the gun breaks down nicely yet when I shoot either rested (fore-end on sandbag) or off-hand I get consistent results. I find that even at 25 meters my groups just aren't very good. My 10/22 with 8" Dlask barrel is much more consistently accurate, and it doesn't even have a magnified optic on it.
