Anyone recommend the best trigger bang for the rimfire buck when it comes to 10/22 triggers. I see KIDD and Timney triggers online but they are not cheap and I wonder how easy they are to get in Canada?? Worth the money?? Any other options available in Canada for a decent price??
Thanks

Hey Partner... Send your factory group to David at Brimstone Smithing... Get his Tier 2 trigger job for $70... It comes with a Rimfire Tech full width trigger and will be the equal of a Volquartsen TG2000 when David is done with it... And he WILL ship to Canada... I have tried every trigger out there including KIDD and I have NO problem recommending Brimstone.

Depending on exactly what you are trying to achieve you may be well served by just installing a VQ target hammer. That is what I have done and it improved the trigger instantly and dramatically.

I got my KIDD 2-stage trigger from Fabsports...every once in a while KIDD products will pop up on there but they sell out quick. I also have a Hornet products trigger group that I like and they ship to Canada.

i saw a couple of KIDD trigger groups at jo-brooks yesterday, a little rich for my blood at $279, but probably sweet none the less :)

On Hoyt's recommendation, I went with Brimstone... ended up choosing the $99 Canadian Special for the Tier 1... just an absolutely phenomenal trigger. LOVE IT! 2.5 lbs of joy!

I have a Timney that is awesome. I got it from Jerry at Mystic Precision (click logo link above). He shipped immediately and I installed it in 2 minutes. It was around $165.00ish.

I too have a timney from Jerry. It is ok but not the same quality of my centerfire rifles. It is about on par with the stock accutrigger on my mkii BV savage. Decent pull weight but still some creep. Clean creep however, not mushy like the stock trigger was. Less overtravel to, clean reset. Guess I'm picky.

whats the point of the auto bolt release? and what width trigger did you guys go with on the brimstone package and why?

Some like the auto bolt release (ME) and some do not... it allows you to release the held open bolt by pulling the charging handle back slightly... but if you use a cleaning rod from the muzzle and bump the bolt with the rod, it will slam shut on you (irratating). As for the trigger, I would recommend that you go with the full width trigger... it has a really nice feel and gives a clean break with out nay "catching" on finger creases etc... David does an amazing job on 10/22 trigger groups. The Tier 2 job is probably the best bang for your buck... but for $99 the "Canadian Special" on his Tier 1 job will get you an "exceptional" trigger, because David gives it very special attention.
