Exactly DGY, who needs a reason something different?!?!?
The Swiss did , they just adapted to something legislated and now we have another caliber to chase discuss or slag by the uneducated
And in True American Fashion a gun writer/firearms publisher provided the seed foe another must have for the few .
I do hope to see a thread or two when your new 2 barrel firearm arrives.
I am sure it will provide copious amounts of joy and appreciation.

No one in N.A. will stock 10.3 metric bullets and 10.3 x 68 brass ...
Because it's different and we can. No common sense involved, I agree. Lots of other similar cartridges out there with bullets and brass not difficult to find. I'm in the process of building a 10.75x68, I've got the Mauser action, a .423" barrel, reamer, brass ($150 for 20pc) and lots of bullets. Just waiting for dies. When it's all together, I will have one, and most others won't.
Much the same problem with the Sako 9.3X66, getting loaded RWS and more 'exotic' Sako loads is like pulling teeth here. The 10.3 has been out almost a decade, and hasnt gone far sadly. I briefly thought about the cartridge, but loaded ammo was non-existent and even ordering in RWS seems impossible. I did look at Frankonia, Reimer Johansen and a few others for 10.3 reloading components, but by the time I got components and dies the price was more than I was willing to commit to.
Reloading? Making brass?
If you have dies, try reworking 30-06 brass. I make brass for my 9.3 x 62 from 30-06 and need to trim a couple mm of the case before loading. From what I have read, I think it would be worth a try; trimming may not even be required.
Why mess around with a 10mm when there is an excellent selections of .416's...
Reworking 06 into 62 might work, but not 66. You could buy all new dies etc to make the 10.3 being discussed, but dies and components were expensive when i looked at them years ago, and still dont want either badly enough to sink a small fortune into reloading kit and components. If I was hell bent on a 10mm i would look at the 10mm remington mag, and try to track down dies.
