yup dumbest law ever these magazine laws.
either way he ends up with 10 rounds in a magazine.
ones legal ones not .. result is the same except he basically ruined his rifle "sort of" now he has to build custom mags for it and they are super long and goofy looking "no offence here".
They need to just make 10 rounds mags legal. Most mags are 10 round capable and most would be easily reversable from pinned to 5 to a full 10.
Better yet do away with limits all together or just do a within reason limit but either way 5 rnds is a joke. 10 is kind of even a joke. 20 would be more acceptable.

I wonder if attempting this mod with a dremel is feasible, gonna have a look at it over the holidays so im not limited to 5 round modified mags. the bolt mod i can likely handle with the bench grinder. will post my results (successfull or not) once i get them.
This is the hardest , and most critical part of the build. I used 2 special hardened bits and hours of dremil time to make the mag fit properly. MOST will shy away from this amount of hard work and dedication to the build, or they will take the EASY route and modify the Mag "making it prohibited'. Its a tough build, but worth it in the end. You will have more fire power than the CZ , vz 58 or ruger ranch style rifle . where can you get a NON restricted 762x39 rifle that holds 10 rounds for under $650. You cant.

I have another sks that I would like to have done, but...sheeesh, I know whats involved. More blisters on the hands and a headache from listening to the compressor run for hours on end. I have a friend with a plazma cutter....I may give that a try. You could cut that metal out cleanly in minutes,...or screw the whole darn gun. If I attempt it, I will post before and after pics.
Whos skirting the law. There is no such thing. The law is black and white. Dont hate on those that choose to use LAR mags because they can do so legally within the law as it is written. Hate on those that wrote the laws.
I totally agree. I am staying within the law and guide lines. I just like building things. LOL.
So i put a call in to a firearms tech at the rcmp firearms program. Not only was he un-awares that you could use 10 round 7.62x39 pistol mags in a rifle legally, he was also uncertain if you could take off some metal from the same mag to make it fit an remain legal. I have an e-mail in to that department as of Wednesday. Hopefully they will get back to me by new years for inquiring minds. There isnt anything in the act that Ii can find that specifically forbids it. Im still gonna mill my receiver, but some of you might want to try this mod with only chopping magazines. Hope to have an official response for you guys soon.
