NO going Back. You have to shave off a lot on the triggerGroup front end. You also got to shave off a lot of the rear wall were your "bolt hold mechanism is" Once you start, you better be committed to finish it proper, or you've just made your sks a Single shot rifle.

30 seconds to pull the Rivet out and have 10 rounds- illegal
or 8 hours milling & grinding to get 10 rounds- Legal.
 
Glad to see someone finally get one of these. I was following the production of the g9 from its days as a prototype. I lost interest when I found out you have to modify the mags for it to work tho...
 
you could tig weld and build up the front end of the trigger group... but you need to draw an outline of the front, on paper so you have an idea on the shape to file it to ... so that is fixable
-however the mod to the wood stock is not ... but its not like there is shortages of aftermarket stocks for the sks ... lol

I'm really tempted to buy an sks ...just to try this out .. . it does look very well done

INCORECT- you CANNOT modify the mag in any WAY. You must modify the receiver only, otherwise its prohib......"and by that, I mean grinding the Slag out from under it, so you are not even changing the factory function of the gun." Just removing excess metal." Some have lots of extra slag, some have very little.
The same fellow that sells the adapter, has the mags that drop right in, BUT they are MODIFIED and are NOT pistol mags.
So you have to use his US adapter, then make Canadian Legal pistol mags work. Its Blending the 2 idea's and make one that works.
If it was easy to build a 10 round SKS, everyone would have one. This "build" is for the person who is willing to sacrifice time, money, skills and effort.

You sure can.

The 2 BITS were bought at Aklands. They are super tough & sharp and meant for Hardened steel. Must ware eye protection ! these bits will shoot sharp needle fragments all over the place.
3 Files, sand paper, grinder with brush, calipers,hand chisel,hammer, air dermal, ECT
The dermal came in really handy for making the Stock wider ,..sure cuts through plastic in a hurry.

It sure is FUN to shoot.
There isn't very many NR 762x39 guns you can shoot 10 rounds out of.
and at this price, it would be the only one.

So do tell how did you make the mags work if markus specifically states you have to modify the mags to work in the G9?
