Hi guys.
First off, I have read quite a few forum discussions on this topic and have tried a few things to fix it myself; I am now getting frustrated as I have a shoot coming up this weekend!! I need my trusty 10/22 back by friday!!!!
Here’s the scoop.
Standard 10/22 with new DLASK Bull Barrel in Houge Stock. Been working fine fine for months with butler creek steel lip mags!
Last week I installed a new DLASK cocking handle by essentially prying off the old one and re-using the factory guide rod and spring... the new handle does not stay on by itself though (I have to hold it steady until I install it in the receiver).
I also installed a Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor along with the new spring it came with... I used the factory plunger.
Took it to the range and all I got was stove pipe jam after stove pipe... (Casing stuck in barrel/receiver and not extracting/ejecting)..
TROUBLE SHOOTING
I took the rifle home and, using snap caps, attempted to trouble shoot the problem. Assuming that the extractor was the issue I reinstalled the factory extractor.... same problem (stovepipe).
I then installed a newer factory cocking handle assembly.... same problem.
I then took out the entire trigger assembly + Bolt + cocking handle and installed it into my brothers 10/22 receiver + standard barrel and it worked flawlessly with the new Volquartsen extractor and Dlask Charging Handle!!!!!
So now I'm very confused and assuming that my parts are all ok and that perhaps my DLASK Barrel (or Receiver) is to blame!
Any Advice?? the Barrel looks to be aligned properly.
