1022 Tommy Gun Kit

About a month ago, when I went to Fabrice's place, I had the chance to fondle this baby (the gun, not the girl ;-)... and although I've never seen a real thompson in person, the unit is very solid, & craftsmanship, including wood, is excellent quality. I only found strange that a buttplate was missing. Does the original thompsons had buttplates ?

Yes they did. We decided not to put one on from a cost perspective as it would have added $20 to the price and we desperately wanted to keep the price under the $500 mark. From a visual point of view it would have provided no value to enhancing the Thompson image and just make the kit more expensive.

By any chance might a suitable buttplate be one of the extra accessories that will be offered?

We are sourcing that right now. We may actually have to make them but we will be offering stick mags in the near future. Here is a pic of a ROUGH unfinished prototype we are working on.

This is an update to the previous pictures. I just got it anodized this morning.

You supply your own rotary mag and our extension piece will be epoxied onto the bottom of the Ruger magazine. The end of our extension piece is machined to fit into the recess of the Ruger magazine so it will be very easy to assemble.

They will be as suggested, just an extension on the bottom of the standard Ruger rotary magazine. That is all I have ever been using as there are no straight magazines that handle .22 cal.

I have been advised that the drum magazine we were intending on using was not performing satisfactorily so it is not being offered at this time.

have got a promag 50 drum magazine and it work pretty well with CCI amunitions ex: stigner , velocitor , mini mag, Reminton golden bullet are also good
 
i ordered one of these:cool:is the magwell standard 10/22 depth? what i mean by that is,can i just plug in a 10/22 mag:confused:..thanks,brad:rockOn:

For what it's worth, Walther P22 mags are a straight design and they seem to work (albeit with 10 rounds)... might be worth looking into if you want to manufacture your own mags.
 
Sorry, I can't get a decent picture as the length of the area you want is so long that the depth of field i have on my camera won't let me get everything in focus.

Top view then maybe? Just somthing that can show doen the rear sight.

I guess that would have been a tricky shot to take with a camera, but I am just curious. Thanks.
