So looking for some input from some fellow reloaders. Not internet worriors who have heard from a guy who knows his sister kinda thing...looking for some hard facts of “I Have done”

None the less I and loading up some 180 cast semi wad 10mm patatos at 5.7gr of titegroup and they are probably scooting around 950-1000fps out of my 10mm that has a lot of porting.

Now from what I have read about the original dealings 1300-1400fps are achieveable...has any one done it and what was used?

33000psi looks to be the safe max on this unit and most data only goes to 28-29...

Sooo...any one have some input

At 1300-1400 fps I would assume you are talking bullets in the 180 grain range. Longshot, Blue Dot and AA9 will all provide top velocities with 180 grain bullets. I have found longshot to be the most versatile and best performing all around. Though all three of those I listed have gotten me over 1300fps out of a 5" barrel. SAAMI max pressure is 37,500 PSI, not sure why you figure 33,000 is max...

800-X is a pain in the ass with the need to hand weigh charges and there is also a lot of old data out there that is flat out dangerous. The infamous 135grn/800-x load almost cost me a gun despite a careful work up.

I run a 10mm 1911 long slide for wilderness protection at work (legally)
I’m loading custom 225gr hardcast over longshot. If I remember correctly I’m Right around 1100fps with my 6” barrel.
Going to do some loading for my new xdm 10mm but might wait until my competition trigger shows up first. After learning and shooting with 1911s first I can’t stand the striker fired triggers.

May try some lighter bullets for fun in the 165gr department to see how fast they can go. Another bullet I like for the 10mm is the xtp 180gr and 200gr. Some even say the 180 out penetrates the 200.

C.I.P=33,000 and seems to be what most reloading data is 10% off of as there maximum pressure for reloading data and factory loads.
I am firing 180gr projectiles

We aren't in Europe so again, not sure why you figure 33,000 is max. You are looking for top end loads so why not go with the higher and still safe maximum standard? Here are the charges I have used with 180 FMJ and JHP bullets. I load JHPs to 1.260 and FMJ to 1.250". Some are not max you'll notice, I often get diminishing returns before I get to max with many loads.

Blue Dot 11 grains
Longshot 9.4 grains
AA9 15 grains

I use those with whatever brass and whatever standard primer. Magnum primers have given me issues with some loads and are entirely unnecessary for any 10mm load. I have run those loads in 9 different 10mms, they all perform flawlessly.

I use 800-x under a 180 jacketed bullet (I'd have to go out to the shop to remember what brand I loaded last). I haven't chrony'd them yet but they're pretty stout and run my G21 with 6" stainless 10mm conversion with a 22lb spring perfectly.
Now you've got me curious, next days off I'm going to try to get on the range with it, I found a couple soggy pumpkins that were supposed to get shot before they thawed sitting in the yard waiting to explode :p

You cannot use 800X in a progressive press....

It is a pain to meter.

I used RCBS Dandy little hand thrower.....worked good for me.?

As always with Max loads in a semi you have to make sure the chamber is fully supported.

Oh im not against going higher, or saying I am 100% correct. I just averaged all the max loads in a couple reloading book and the maximums of them are 10% off of the CIP rating of 33000 being the book “written safe load psi” of course it’s lower to cover all there bases, so that was the closest written maximum that was relevant to all published reloading data.
I will definitely give you’re loads a test and is good info to take into account!

Several other postings on 10mm......

200gr Truncated
8.2 grs Longshot
Win Large Pistol primers
OAL:# 1.260

It's a max load, used in both my G20 and Caspian 1911 prohib.

That load runs just over 1200fps out of a 6" barrel in my testing. It's hard to get the 200s going fast without really pushing the limits.

The best velocities I get regardess of bullet weight ( 155, 165, 180 & 200gr ) have all been with 800X.
Blue dot is nice for flash but velocity wise 800X is hard to beat!

the 10mm is my favorite pistol caliber but I have reached the age where max loadings don't interest me. Yes I know I could have bought a 9 or 45 but I like the 10.

I load and shoot loads around 1000 fps using Power Pistol and 180 grain bullets. These are approx. the same as Federal FMJ. Same powder weight charge with what "looks" to be same powder. Extremely accurate and easy on the wrist. Knocks over the steel targets with ease. I don't hunt with them nor carry them so lighter loads suit me perfectly.

If I change to spring back down to 11# then I shoot a very light load at about 700 fps using 231. That is a bullseye accurate load and I shoot that through the winter in our indoor range. Recoil like a 22 lr.
