Considering adding a 10mm and interested in your experience and opinions on which pistol is the better 10mm. I currently have (and like) both Glock and 1911 platforms and shoot 9mm (Glock), 40 (M&P) and 45 (1911).

The Glock 20 and Kimber Eclipse II seem to be some of the few (non-custom) options available on the market.

I have personally owned both the guns you have listed and would go Glock especially if you plan on using properly loaded 10mm in it.

If you have smallish hands the 1911 will be easier to handle/shoot. It will also handle the heavier cast bullets whereas the Glock will not. You should take a look at the Tanfoglio 10mm guns as well.

I don't own either. Where I live a 10mm store bought bullet is like $1.00 per. From what I understand Glock does not like you to reload your bullets. I have never heard of a 1911 in 10mm though.

I have a 10mm that is a S&W 610(revolver that shoots .40S&W and 10mm). I have shot it one time as I just got it. It is the most accurate gun I own and I have a few! I have a 1911 in .45 ACP(good shooter too). I have read a bit about 1911s and love the platform. The FBI started to go with the 10mm but stopped due to it being a bit hot for too many of the officers in an auto.

What I'm trying to say is the 10mm is a bit hot although I didn't notice it in the SS S&W 6.5 inch BBL. It was a dream. The 1911 platform, I think is best with a big, heavy, slow bullet with 7-8 round clip. That was it's design and it works best as designed in 1911 by Mr. Browning. The 10mm uses about twice the pressure as a .45ACP round uses. As I said before I didn't even know that the 1911 was chambered in 10mm. I am not declaring myself an expert by any means but I am into this a bit. If the 1911 is rare in 10mm there is likely a good reason for this. I checked as I thought the 10mm round was a lot longer than a .45ACP but it is almost the same length so in theory the 10mm is a match for the 1911's design. I guess my thought is that if you have a 1911 it is best in .45ACP but there are many calibers out there like .50GI that tickles my fancy! Also caliber change over kits with BBLs and slides to switch calibers.

I like the 10mm round and I hope it regains a strong following. More guns will be made in that round. In fact I hope that Ruger reintroduces the convertable revolver they had in 10mm and S&W brings back the 610.

One other thing is I just plain love revolvers and am not as sold on autos. Just disclosure of a bias I suppose. I think all guns should be in steel as well, no tupperware!

Just my $0.02

STI Perfect 10.

This is a STI 2011 platform not really a 1911. It is a 6 inch BBL and 1911 came in only 5 inch origionally. It isn't even a all steel gun(could be wrong about this) like the 1911 is/was. STI builds great guns and I have one. Not knocking them in any way.

You are missing the best of the 10mm handguns in your poll = a Glock 29.

I also have a Colt Delta Elite and a Glock 20.

The EAA/Tangfoglio pistols are crap. They do not even stand up to the CIP maximum loads. The company is crappier then they pistols as they will never acknowledge issues with their pistols and keep saying well those are not factory rounds (old Norma ammo) and Corbon (LOL). According to the idiots at Tanfoglio/EAA these are specialty ammunition not intended for use in the 10mm.

However, this said the CZ75 platform is too dainty for the 40 S&W never mind the 10mm. My own CZ75 40S&W has never fired a magazine without some feeding issue. It has been out to CZ thrice and they are unable to fix it.
