My first experience with the 10mm cartridge was 28 years ago back in the spring of 1988 I shot at a gun club/Colt show a newly introduced Colt Delta Elite in 10mm.

Up until then I had been shooting 9mm and 45acp I was blown away at the power/recoil that that 1911 handgun/cartridge combo produced it was awesome.

I laid my money down on the spot had one a couple of weeks later.

I got involved in the earliest load development of the 10mm on Glock Talk 10mm Reloading forum have my data in one of the stickies there still.

I got into prospecting full time my first ATC for remote wilderness defense carry was for my Colt Delta Elite loaded with 190gr Sierra FPJ bullets.

I next purchased an 18" single shot T/C Contender carbine barrel from the T/C Custom Shop and a gen 3 Glock 20.

I have since purchased my favorite 10mm handguns a Kimber Stainless Target 11 (the nicest 10mm I've ever owned) and a Glock 29 and I am now looking at purchasing one of the new non-restricted Aero Survival carbines in 10mm it should take my Glock mags.

Yep can't help it I still feel that the 10mm is the most powerful fun filled standard production semi auto cartridge available it can do everything the other semi-auto cartridges can do and everything they can't.

When packing them legally in the bush for animal defense the 10mm cartridge defintley gave me a feeling of reassurance.

I just recently got into the 10 game with a SIG 220 two tone and love it. I had been interested in this cartridge ever since reading an article in Guns & Ammo (?) way back in the late 80s on the Bren X. Back then, in school the teachers didn't have their "panties in a bunch", and at least I was reading something.

I had a chance to buy a brand new S&W 1086 (4.25", DAO) back in the early nineties at a dealer for $450. I passed it up, thought better of it a few days later, went back to buy it and it was gone.

I still kick myself for missing that one, and subsequently bought a S&W 4006. Still don't have a 10mm, still want one!

I'm actually thinking of trying my g20 for field pistol silhouette shooting this year. Should i go heavy and slow, or light and fast?

I'm a fan of the 10mm and it definitely seems to be making a comeback south of the border. After a fairly long drought, I'm encouraged by some of the new models available and the resurgence of proper factory ammo (even if we can't get it in Canada yet). I think it has now found a better niche as a backcountry/hunting round (opposed to defence) and seems to have a dedicated following.

I have owned several Glock 20s, I usually have at least two at any given time. I recently picked up a Glock 40 MOS that I am really enjoying. I have also bought and sold a 1006, 2 Thureon Defense 10mms, a Glock 29, EAA Witness and probably a couple I can't recall. Unfortunately I had a housefire that claimed my all time favourite 10mm, an STI Perfect 10. You could say I'm hooked on the cartridge for sure!

The Grand Power P40 in 10mm is one I'd like to try.
Price is right at $860 plus tax and free shipping, and I like the feel of the 9mm Grand Power's rotary lock up.

Got a few 10mm's, great for wilderness carry
