10mm whose else is hooked?

I had an EAA, it began chipping away as soon as I began shooting it. Stay away from the "wonder finish" models.

EAA did replace it at no charge after an insane 14 month wait.

Got this one done by Black Box Custom, for those of you who handled the "slimline" Glock 36, this gen 3 G20 feels great to shoot now. All I need done is maybe the 3.2lbs trigger job but not a priority.

The 10mm is the caliber of choice for the Danish SF aka Sirius. They carry the Glock 20 as their last resort weapon but most of you already know this, the main I chose a Glock in 10mm and I love the ballistics of this round.

So, I'm not supposed to mention that we have the cleanup contract at an unspecified range and an inch or two of 'real ' 10mm unfired rounds in an ice cream pail in the corner of the shop?
 
Love 10mm. Just watch out at high power loads. Carbines with blow back mechanisms can tear the cases apart. I now load at 8,2 grains of 800x for a 180 grain bullet. Still makes a big punch.

I like 10 mm for the new US army pistol. They can load for several power levels, colour coded of course. The lower levels for women and accountants, and the high power rounds for troopers and operators.

I doubt any enemy getting clipped with a medium to high loaded 10mm is going to be a continued threat. But, bureaucracy will prevail and they will likely settle for 9mm again.
 
I want one, how loud are they compared to a 9mm/40/45? Also what size of primer do they take? Large or small? Is there a list of 10mm pistols? All I know of off the top of my head are the glock 20 and colt delta.
 
Mine sound like a 44 indoors, they use LP primers

other shooters around me sometimes think i double charged my 45

most factory loads are neutered, and are just a bit hotter than a 40
 
Even better when you shut off all the lights but the ones downrange

i just remeber a guy that shot bullseye, always though he owned the range. I would wait until he set up and really pissed him off
 
Just curious. How much more recoil would a 10mm be over a .45acp?
Assuming the same gun weight/style and using factory AE ammo?
I have never owned a 10mm, but admit to being curious....
 
Best way to answer your question is totally depends on your 10mm loads or if your running +P loads in your 45acp.

If you compare apple to apples load the 10mm is a faster recoil basically it is only when you are shooting top pressure 10mm loads that there is a big difference.
 
Given the rather large difference in ballistics the 10mm recoil impulse is obviously much faster than even +p .45 when you are comparing similar guns. I would say it's still very manageable though. I had a Glock 21 for a while and I didn't shoot it any better than the 20. When comparing factory ammo which runs at up to 300fps slower than top end handloads I would agree that no real difference would be felt.

Longshot is my new favourite powder, it used to be blue dot but since that is so hard to find and since I get 100fps better velocity with less powder I have switched. I wish I had started using it sooner...
