10mm whose else is hooked?

Longshot is for my lighter 10mm loads, it's more for 9, 40, and 45 loads for me

you need something like blue dot, 800x 4756 or any magnum powder for higher velocity loads

I disagree with that. I'm getting 1330fps with a 180 FMJ out of my Glock 20 using 9.8grns of Longshot while an 11.2grn charge of blue dot only gets me to 1250. I also find it meters better, Longshot is a great 10mm powder

I am not looking for top velocities from any other powder than IMR800X.

So I don't really care what powder I'm using for my lighter 10mm loads but with that said I use Blue Dot & AA#9 going to try Longshot when I run out of other powders which will be a while still.

Hi guys my name is Mike and I am a 10mm addict ;)

I have owned 2 delta Elite a S&W 1066 and sold them to just keep my S&W 610 and my sig 220 elite stainless

and Longshot is my to go powder for full power loads with 165gr, 180gr and 200gr

I personally have managed to avoid the siren song of the 10mm. But when I was younger, had I had the cash...one of those Colt Delta Elites would have been my ride!

Today I steadfastly ignore the 10mm, secure in my moral superiority with my .45's. I am a disciple of St. Cooper and St. Browning and will not be led astray by flashy guns, slick advertising and the fickle whims of ego.

But in my deepest, darkest places of my heart...one of those Sigs in 10mm? I had better not see one of those at Ye Olde Gun Shoppe or my soul shall surely be lost.

One Lung you do know that St. Cooper was one of the main designers of the 10mm cartridge?

So if you are a follower how can you not have a 10mm?

Delta Elite, 1006, G20 and G29. Wish I had snagged a 610 back in the day.

The nine is fine, but the ten is for men.

Come to the dark side

i decided i needed to take a break from buying new toys.
either that or i need to buy yet another safe..... and that would make the wife very unhappy if i had to add yet another safe into the house.

but....... i have a itch for a 10mm and have for a while now.
i have narrowed it down to 1 of the following 2 guns.
either a 1911 in 10mm if i can find a nice one, or, and this is where im leaning is the new Glock G40 with the long slide 6".

i have yet to see either but i know that should i see either one of those i wouldnt leave the store without it paid for, which is probably why i have not gone into any gun stores in the last couple months, cause i know im weak!

i have yet to even hear of anyone up here shooting the G40, keep waiting for someone to get one and do a review.

I'll be shooting mine for the third time in about an hour. I'll try to grab some video of both the 20 and 40 firing some max loads. The recoil is very different between the two. Much softer and slower with the 40. I am really loving the gun so far.

Had a chance to shoot my reloads yesterday, all i can say is wow. I have never seen my g20 eject brass that far before. Recoil wasn't wrist breaking but not something that would be enjoyable to shoot all day. Overall it was great fun, I'm looking forward to developing and experimenting more loads.

did you import that G40 or did a LGS actually get one in up here?
(why do i feel like my wallet is gonna get lighter soon?)

Something to keep in mind as well as far as frame battering. That extra spring weight you use to slow down the slide helps speed it up when it is going the other way!

Excellent, factual and well overlooked point. MANY THANKS!
I'll keep my new G20 stock...

I love my 1911 10mm's

Top one has a fully supported STI barrel (wilderness Carry) for 10mm max loads
Middle has a fully supported Heinie Comped barrel
Bottom is bone stock

Custom Hydrashock loads - 7.7 grns IMR4756 sending the 180 grn projectile 1175 fps
