The best bet might be to see if the barrel ring crack can be welded.
I owned a Remington 11-87 Sporting Clays in the early 90's and it was different from the standard 11-87 or the 1100 in a couple of regards.
Despite being called an 11-87, the barrel on the Sporting Clays model did not have the same gas compensating mechanism as the standard 11-87. There was a warning on the SC barrel not to use shells more powerful than 2-3/4", 3-1/4 dram, 1-1/4 ounce as I recall.
The barrel was closer to the Remington 1100 in design however the magazine tube on the 11-87 Sporting Clays was shorter (3 rounds instead of 4) and I do not believe replacement Remington 1100 barrels will work on it either. I have never seen an 11-87 Sporting Clays barrel for sale.
