13 inch MSW IWI X95 Tavor now Prohibited

yes but where are the details!

You can contact the dealer you purchased it from...NS has sent them the info. If they haven't received it the dealer can contact North Sylva. Remember North Sylva isn't the only importer of these, Impact Outdoors brought in a bunch. I don't know what Impact's return/credit policy on this is going to be as they haven't told us yet. They may be handling it directly with the consumer, we're not sure.

I will ask again

How do the residents of sask and Alberta stand on this since both governments passed laws
Preventing any federal officer confiscating firearms without obtaining a license first

Do you think police in alberta and sask have stopped seizing firearms from unlicensed individuals? The provincial legislation passed in alberta and sask is meant to prevent LE agencies from assisting in trudeaus OiC gun grab. It does not prevent front line police of doing ordinary police work.

Police will not proactively visit the homes of tavor owners and attempt to enforce compliance of these revocation notices. However anyone found in possession of one after the 30 day grace period indicated on the revocation notice is in possession of an unregistered prohibited firearm without a valid license to possess that firearm and is legally no different than a gangbanger with a prohibited pistol tucked in their draws.

These guns and their owners would not be protected from any OiC amnesty so those waiting for the importers or any other remedy would do so at the complete whim of law enforcement. Not a situation many would be comfortable with.

Im confident police will never come to seize them and so its not an outrageous suggestion to do nothing and wait. But this is a suggestion that includes knowingly committing offences under the criminal code.

Filing a s74 application to challenge the revocation is a legal right and it has the benefit of pausing the 30 day surrender period. However unless you have evidence that can rebut the expert witnessess that the government will produce and can effectively argue some very complex legal issues you are unlikely to be successful in that reference hearing.

The other disadvantage to filing a s74reference is you are sticking your head up for further scrutiny. As the saying goes its the nail that sticks out the most that gets hammered first.

To each their own.

We're handling all of MSW deactivations and return process for North Sylva so they will be forwarding everyone to us. The store credits that are issued will be with the dealers they were purchased from.

I am hopeful a judge may be so constrained

Judges make decisions based on 1) the law and 2) the truths and lies presented in their courtroom.
Judges have no way to make a correct decision based on truth mixed with emotion, falsehood, innuendo, and biased opinion portrayed as "EVIDENCE".
A judge is a bureaucrat with extraordinary power appointed by a biased government.
Judges have political bias and I have experienced a judges personal bias in the courtroom.

I am presently filing Reference Hearing under section 74 for many owners. The time window for me to take on new references in this matter is ended. October 26th

Ed Burlew LL.B.
