Hey gents, I am curious if any of yall have some ideas, or can help me out here.

I had zeroed my 1301 the other month with some challenger target slugs on paper at 50 yards. Seemingly everything was OK. Using a holosun 509t on a tac ord mount.
Mount and optic are solid, no movement.

Took the gun home, cleaned it, reassembled.

Other day I took it out again and could not hit a friggen thing beyond like 15 yards. The gun was WAY off. I dont know what the heck is going on. Barrel nut was tight. I am worried if something is funky with the gas system. I inspected the piston, its clean and that ring moves freely.

Any other ideas?

Inhabe a 1301 comp, 21". I haven't zero'd it, as I use the bead sight.

Using the bead I'm pretty accurate out to 25 yards. Will be hopefully buying a Acro S toint on the rib.

I have mounted a Vortex Viper on a truglo rib mount. Was pretty accurate, till the mount comes loose.

Three things .... I am assuming you are using the same slugs again (challenger target slugs).

1.) Your optic is mounted to the receiver and not the barrel .... so the barrel has some wiggle room in the receiver. With my 870 I have realized that groups are slightly off every time I take barrel off and put it back on. But accuracy is still within 2-3 pie plates at 50 meters.

2.) Choke: Does your gun have a removable choke? Has it been changed? Is it loose or damaged?

3.) Is the optic defective? Can you still shoot decent groups with the ghost ring sights?

The gas system has nothing to do with the accuracy of a fired shell.

What is the choke restriction, and are you using the same slugs as the ones you zeroed with?
Yes of course. Same shells

The choke is the oem CL choke that comes with the 1301.

Way back when, my xcr gas block got gunked up with solvent or oil, the block failed to supply gas properly and the gun could not hit a barn.

Wolverine tested it, confirmed , gave me a new gas block and solved my issues. Thats why im thinking its this

Im not sure your issue with consistency.

And this won't solve it, but id buy a rifled choke if running slugs. Pretty impressive increase in accuracy.

Something is wrong with the optic, or, sorry to say it, you. The gas system on the 1301 (B-link) is very low maintenance, needs little care or cleaning and has absolutely nothing to do with the guns accuracy.

The gas system ejects fired shells and allows for new shells to be chambered.

Holosun are very high quality optics in my opinion, so I doubt the optic has internally lost its zero...but if you had a zero, stripped it, reassembled it and it lost it's zero...I'd say re-zero it.

When you say "the gun couldn't hit a friggin thing beyond 15 yards" what do you mean? Where were the slugs going? All over the place? All left? All right? All high, low? You have to give us more information.

The problem as you're describing it won't be a choke tube issue either.

No rifled choke is needed out to 100 meters ..... 870 Police with Ghost Ring sights and a fixed IC choke ....

Some slugs can really lead up the barrel too
If the barrel is leaded up bad that can affect accuracy as well
Challenger and score slugs are usually pretty good
I have some Rio slugs that are horrible for leading, I think they are too hot, running over 1300 fls
