I will go with the barrel to reciever alinement . seeing you had the barrel off the reciever .the 2nd time round were your impacts grouping but off point of aim .

assembly was tight and proper.

My barrel is taking forever to clean, it looks super leaded up. I was removing tons of build up . I will report back once I shoot the thing again.

The gas system was also BADLY fouled , so much so that the piston housing had chunks of carbon covering those gas port holes.

only ever shot challenger target slugs and tactical buck.
I've shot hundreds of those same shells without issue or loss of accuracy. I haven't cleaned the gun yet, just disassembled to check what was going on and sprayed some CLP on the rotating bolt.

to be fair, I am the second owner. Maybe the first owner did some silly things and i never noticed until now.

Make a YT channel and upload there. Then post a link.
PS - I use an old 12G brush with some Copper Chore-boy wrapped on it to clean out plastic and lead. Iput it on an old AL cleaning rod and spin with a low speed drill for a few seconds - cuts thru all the cr*p. Use a bit of Hoppes for lube in this process.

How are you shooting it? In a sled or standing? I can hit pretty good groups at 50m standing. But these are not meant to be accurate with sub moa groups. I do find in other shotguns that running optics can be iffy sometimes the recoil of the shotgun can throw the optic out of whack. Is the one your using rated for shotguns?

Hey guys- wanted to update this thread.

It took me four whole evenings of cleaning the bore and gas system to get her perfectly clean.

I shot the thing this weekend and all the accuracy issues were immediately resolved. Shooting slugs perfectly at 50 years standing, seating, kneeling etc.

Prior to the cleaning i literally could not hit a barn door at 25 or 50 yards, it was insane how random the shots were. Up , down , left , right.

There was serious leading in the bore right in the center where the two holes are tapped for the gas system.

Ok, so I did a test once and to determine the effect of fouling on slug accuracy ..... and it is a real thing.

But fouling to a degree that you can't "... hit a friggen thing beyond like 15 yards. " ..... yeahhhh I am not sure .... ????
