1440 rounds +sks for $350 WOW.

Yup , mine too. Can't wait. Just down to to canpar now !

Niice..
What's your game plan on cleaning off the Cosmoline?

Saw some youtube vids and i think I will dump all the parts in mineral spirit and use a 4 inch pvc pipe to immerse the barrel..

paint thinner works good, since the initial cleaning i've been using simple green and hot water works real good, the pvc tube works great for the barrel, make sure you take the firing pin out and clean that real good or you could get slam fires.
SKS is allot of fun and cheap to shoot
Cheers,

Thanks, can wait to get my hands dirty... well I'll be wearing gloves :)

Paint thinner?
NO!

I took mine apart and boiled the pieces for a few minutes. THe grease floated to the top, done. seemed to work fine.

Now we're talking... Boiling water out of the kettle, then your gunoil of choice....G96 if you ask me.

Cleaned my sks with brake cleaner in the garage in a large garbage can, all the gunk ran off on to some old rags, then air from compressor, then soak everything in wd40, wipe down and reassemble. Oil and grease where things slide, except of course around the firing pin. Complete cosmo removed in about an hour. Will be some tight areas to use a dental pik or qtip to get but that's it.
Brake cleaner won't hurt anything but will strip all the gunk off the metal, so be sure to recoat with something as soon as its dry.

I'm going give the parts:
a bath in mineral spirits
then a shower of hot boiling water
then a soak in wd40
and finally a massage in gun oil

:D

I didn't buy any grease yet.. which one should I get?

What are the chances of getting my SKS by EOD today?
