Short barrels tend to be stiffer and thus more accurate. I'm surprised those Frontier models didn't sell better. I always thought they were a great platform.

I have one in 338 federal and. Still get 2500fps with it and 200g bullet great little package. I would not hesitate for that prce
I concur and echo this. I also have a 358 Frontier that will regularly print ~MOA.My Ruger Frontier 358 is far more accurate than I ever imagined a 16.5 " rifle would be .
And as for reach it has no problem bouncing 200 gr. Hornadys off the 300 yd. gong.

If you shoot on a range without hearing protection, hearing loss will be the same with a 26" barrel. When you're hunting, you're not shooting often.

It just takes one shot to damage ones hearing.

The speed was over a chrono and was a federal blue box. I was surprized with that speed myself
I don't think it is any noisy than a magnum or the lady's quacking some days. She still hasn't learnt to right it down on paper so I can read it later
